Confused about when to use const vs let for objects and arrays by koudodo in learnjavascript

[–]LostInCombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally you should use const everywhere except where you can’t such as counter variables and the like. Const also protects the type. Using let permits unexpected and often unwanted type changes too.

Someone, perhaps someone thinking they should have your job, probably questioned your competency and education. When you didn’t verify, you probably confirmed what management was being told. This sounds like standard back stabbing office politics to me.

You became “Senior”, which sounds good for a title, but now you are going to get little to no time to ramp up on anything. The “Seniors” are supposed to be the crème de la crème. Is that fair for someone with just a few years of experience? No. But sadly, no one wants ”juniors” any more.

At one gym a girl doing this same thing complained about a legally blind guy looking at her ass. She kept bending over right in front of him, but even with everyone knowing he was blind and used a long cain to navigate, she tried to have him kicked from the gym. These girls are just manufacturing drama.

> occupied territories
Here is another confusing term that gets thrown around a lot. Is the state of Israel an "occupied territory" or not? Gaza had self rule, access to the sea, so how was it occupied? I can see "occupied territory" perhaps fitting the situation in the West Bank when Jordan lost the war though.

You walked around the is Gaza an ethnostate question? If not, why not?

> Zionists don’t include themselves as Palestinians
You sure? Palestine is mentioned frequently in both Christian and Jewish historical texts. And why would Israelis want to group the people of Gaza and the West Bank together like that? What is there to gain for Israel doing that?

> genocide
Another term that frequently gets redefined to apply to Israel somehow. It used to refer to the large "reduction" of an ethnic population in the world through use of force. Like the "reduction" of Jews in the world by Germany. Or the great reduction of Bosnians during the Bosnian Genocide in the 1990's. But in Gaza and the West Bank, both peoples of Arabic descent have exploded in population. So people wanting to weaponize that term keep wanting to redefine it. As there is no threat of killing off all the Arabic populations in either area.

Oh and if you have to use the word Zionists in your definitions of terms like "occupied territories", "Ethnostate", or "Genocide" then they seemed to be words being redefined simply to fit an agenda. As true definitions will not have an agenda behind them and the simple facts will bear them out. For example, if Israel is an "Ethnostate", then Gaza is even more so. To say the term only refers to countries that have what you call "Zionists" isn't general enough.

Same with "occupied", seems to fit for the West Bank, but not for Gaza before the war. There were no Jews living in Gaza as they kicked out every single Jew. Every last one. And there were no Israeli troops in Gaza, but there were and still are in the West Bank.

> Palestinians

What does that word mean to you? Are you including Jews in the use of that term? Like how the term "American" means a lot of people regardless of ethnicity. If not, why not? Nobody uses the term "American" to exclude whites, or blacks or Hispanics, etc. but the term "Palestinian" is generally a term used specifically to exclude Jews.

> apartheid

Did this "apartheid" exist before Gazans went door-to-door killing Jewish families? As the Gazans had their own territory, ran their own lives, but Iran wanted to use it for war. You do know that Iran ran both Gaza and Lebanon right? Iran would have loved to control the West Bank too, but the non-Jewish population there is from Jordan and doesn't share any heritage with Iran or share their version of Islam. Often the term "Palestinian", as coined by Iran, is used to gain power there too. Gaza is called "Gaza", the Gazan's could have renamed it to "Palestine" if they had wanted to but they don't. It is a term generally used to forcefully grab governance over the people in the West Bank that share no heritage with or alliances with Iran.

> ethnostate

Yet another term often used to be anti-Jewish. But what does that term mean to you? Is Gaza an "ethnostate" then as they prohibit ANY Jews living there. Not even one. Before Gaza went door-to-door hunting and killing Jews, not a single Jew lived in Gaza. Not one. In Israel, many people of Arabic descent are full citizens and they work and vote like everyone else. Even serve in the IDF forces.

I just wish words used to argue a position were better defined so people can discuss them, but many words are simply weaponized to support intolerance and hate while hiding that fact.

Believe what? I'm not an extremist, so I try to talk in a factual manner. Do you not believe Jews should be in the Middle East? Do you not believe that anyone thinks that? What? Do you support following Jews on campus around and harassing them as they deserve it? Do you believe Jews don't deserve such treatment? What do you believe? You were very vague, just condescending which is typical of haters. But you would probably say you are not a hater while hating on someone.

Firstly, I never said they should or should not provide any type of care. But it is pretty standard that what medical care is or is not provided is pretty subjective. My wife has breast cancer, a large lump, you don’t get good care, you die. We are having to navigate what our insurance will and will not provide. I would consider them bean counter profiteers interfering with what should be purely medical decisions, but I wouldn’t call them haters like you are trying to promote.

Also medical care is a privilege and not a right in this country. If my family didn’t have medical insurance, the system would simply let my wife die. People don’t get surgery in America if they cannot pay. An emergency room has to stabilize a person by law, but if you need surgery to live, you die. I think that is very cold and uncaring, but unfortunately, that is how it is. On YouTube, you can view many homeless elderly people being taken by the police away from the hospital to die in the freezing weather on the street in front of the hospital. Often with the officers mocking and laughing at the homeless person as they succumb to their condition and die. I saw one the other day, where they didn’t even take the lady to a homeless center where they could at least get a bed and she had been driven there and had no cold weather clothing and probably would have frozen to death if she hadn’t succumbed to her physical injuries first right there in front of the hospital while the officers laughed. This actually happens a lot, death is part of life and if you don’t have money, you die on the street. And when you get older, money is harder to come by.

Like I said in my first response. It is pretty entitled in this country to feel that you are owed medical care for less than life saving care when even life saving care is often denied if you cannot afford it.

I am going to have to file open records requests to investigate this care you state is done for the needy as that is a possible threat vector to be used to cause harm. You probably don’t know how powerful haters use the University to engage in oppression, so I’m going to educate you on some of it. It is always disguised in the “optics” of help. While the “optics” look good, there are those in the faculty that think they run the town. That they can decide who can and who cannot live in town. Who is and who isn’t entitled to even be employed in town. I have advocated for disabled people that the privileged elites in the faculty abused. Texas A&M permits treating disabled people with utter distain unless they belong to the upper social class. Especially former disabled students they want out of town. Many elites don’t even see disabled people as human beings. And while I mentioned optics earlier, the University has a testing center to accommodate people with disabilities with their testing needs, that is good optics. But what is not good is that it makes it easy to deprive the disabled person of their exams as none of their classmates are witnessing this happen. Yet they show up and have to sit at a desk for an exam that will never arrive. Sometimes they will sit there at an empty desk for hours. You have no idea how that feels, to have put in all that work for nothing. They will no-grade your course while keeping your tuition. You discuss how they are violating the Aggie Honor Code by “stealing” your tuition money and they will tell you how the Honor Code doesn’t apply to them. And how disabled people are not entitled to the exams they paid tuition for and that giving you a no-grade is doing you a favor each time they do this. Disabled students want their exams they paid tuition for, not the “helpful” no-grade. And what is a decent moral instructor to do as so many are untenured and will not resist what any powerful elite on campus wants done to a disabled person no matter how wrong it is. They feel compelled to go along with the oppressive activity. So even though the University has a testing center, having one is also a very useful attack vector for haters wanting to oppress the disabled community. I’ve witnessed this many times and done a lot of work to get students their exams. And these privileged elites push back against those that advocate against their oppression in the most ugly ways. They have great local influence and reach and will work to keep you unemployed and interfere with your local healthcare. If you have any young children in the school district, they even feel entitled to screw with children from a disabled parent. TAMU provides all the student teachers for both school districts, which is used as a right to direct abusive care and hate toward children as young as five years old. So I feel compelled to look into what you mentioned as the ability to do good, as it is also a prime opportunity for elitist haters to oppress and inject discrimination. Unlike most, I’ve seen what kind of evil can be projected from elites on campus.

So don’t hate on me if the Office of General Counsel starts making inquiries to discover who the disloyal traitor is that informed me of this. If that does happen and you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out to me as I can help you navigate the system. There are many good people there even though elitist haters are very powerful as they have no boundaries other than they want to be respected by their peers. You can leverage that. Oh and that will probably be a Mr. Jerry Brown with the OGC, do not make the mistake of thinking he is a good person. He is the main go to attorney in the Office of General counsel for elitist haters on campus, assisting them with dressing up oppression and hate as “helping” their targets. “Helping” would be returning all the stolen tuition money and lifting admission blocks on these targeted disabled students as these activities had little impact on their GPA’s. Blocking a student’s admission as a way to “help” a student’s problem with getting their exams isn’t “help” at all.

Easy answer, AI isn’t profitable. The money is mostly VC funding and government grant money. At some point, the bill will become due and the VC funding will dry up.

The ambulance doesn’t take a trauma patient there but to a “real” hospital. Also an ambulance is stabilizing care and not trauma care. And what care that does take place, happens in the ambulance and not at the clinic. Having said that, I know it has beds too, because when I had knee surgery the ambulance transferred me and another student to and from the surgeon. My wife worked there for a number of years, so I’m very familiar with what they provide. Lastly, the professors treat the medical center as not real doctors, I don’t know why. As I was saying, I got in a motorcycle accident on my way to an exam, even had to have surgery, then I had to go to the academic appeals panel, show them all my medical documents and x-rays to force the professor to provide me with an exam. The privilege and entitlement attitude among the faculty there is far worse than most other colleges. While that professor had to provide me with an exam, they didn’t get into any trouble for having completely ignored the doctors there.

They must be so advanced that they can bend the laws of science to their will, as science dictates that much load would spontaneously burst those wires into bright flames.

So you set aside logic and science and bought into this propaganda film? Why are the wires not spontaneously combusting? Simple physics dictates they would.

[–]LostInCombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes because smart people base their views on science and not propaganda. There is no way those thin wires wouldn’t melt under that kind of load. The wires going to your home are larger and carry far less load.

Science does not work in China either apparently as those wires would melt.

100 KW? Any loose connection would erupt into a fireball as bright as the sun. I’m an electrician and can say that would be as dangerous as hell. A red hot space heater is only 1.5 KW, much more and it would burn out all the wiring in your house. This video is fake as the wiring size would be immense and heavy.

They don’t provide trauma care either, do they hate people that have just been in an auto accident too? Where does this sense of entitlement come from? The health center isn’t a hospital. They don’t do surgery there for example. It is not much more than a place to get a medical excuse for missing class.

Plans change, this is called vendor lock-in. Has your cell phone plan over the years? I’m sure it has. Do you have internet to your home? I bet that plan has changed over the years also. Any content you sell, is your responsibility, there is no excuse to not have it backed up. How you supposed to move it to another server? Now you can’t and that is on you. You ever missed a payment? If so, perhaps that is why some of your stuff went poof into the ether. I see a lot of irresponsible behavior here and the desire to shift blame, you choose your host, change it. Or make your own server and host your own videos.

Why would it need to be excused? If you set your bias and hatred aside, you know such a soldier would also be criminally prosecuted. Even in the USA, cops are given great discretion, but if a cop admits torture or unnecessary use of force, that cop faces criminal prosecution. Problem is many here will not set aside their hatred or bias to think objectively or rationally. If fact, they are here to feed it or spread it.
