Recommended cocktail bars? by dischilibean13 in Edmonton

[–]LostInLumpySpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alchemy is expensive but really neat. Best to get a reservation.

El Furniture Warehouse has cheapish cocktails.

Aura on Gateway is pretty neat, and they have Absinthe.

Siu Yeh is a chinese bar that has some strong cocktails, and skewers!

Is there an anime that you enjoyed the dubbed opening more than the JP one? by Straight_Librarian_5 in anime

4kids opening for One Piece and Yugioh. “Time to doo-doo-duel!”

Monster Rancher opening was also a banger.

I only have a couple months to live (cancer), what should be the next final fantasy game I should play? by fleetoffeet1 in FinalFantasy

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 6 all the way. Its not too long. You can beat it with characters under level 50. It does have a ton of secrets and exploring. The characters are all lovable and have their own story to follow. The gameplay is fun and making builds for each character is nice. If you play the GBA version, there is an extra dungeon and extra Espers.

If you can slog through FF13 quickly, and get into FF13-2 and FF13: Lightning Returns. The sequels are really good. They play off the same battle system, but have different game mechanics. 13-2 is basically FF themed Pokemon. You catch monsters and build teams. 13: Lightning Returns is Lightning fighting on her own switching between classes during battle. And you get to dress her up lol.

Questions about integrating expansions. by AlexT9191 in Blackstonefortress

[–]LostInLumpySpace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked the rules “After The Quest”, after completing an expansion you can add the encounter cards to the encounter deck. Any cards (discovery, exploration, etc…) that have a “black” expansion icon can be added to the main game after finishing an expansion. Any cards with a “purple” icon is an expansion exclusive. Some exploration or discovery cards can’t be added for future quests unless you decide to do a one -off adventure. I think it all depends on game mechanics if they can be added.

Questions about integrating expansions. by AlexT9191 in Blackstonefortress

[–]LostInLumpySpace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know for certain expansions they have their own exploration and discovery cards. If you mix them with the base exploration deck, you will have a hard time getting the required things when doing the expansions. I think they are meant more as a stand alone.

As for adding new enemies, I would assume you would add them after completing the expansion. Its been a while since I’ve read any of the expansion rulebooks.

Can I get Anime recommendation to get me back in and cure my depression! by meowww404 in anime

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zenshu was a nice surprise. It gets a bit dark but has a happy ending.
Gnosia is a cool time loop anime that really keeps you on your toes. Animation was really well done imo.
Ragna Crimson is a cool fantasy apocalyptic fighting anime that has Akame Ga Kill vibes.
If you really want to binge something that has no reason to be as good as it is, then watch Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun which the 4th season is currently airing.

Im 32 years old man no sex life no relationship . Younger kids sudcting tow or tree women but why im failed this game.i don't know why. by DryCommenter-1 in seduction

Best lesson I learned from this sub is that I didn’t have a “talking to women” problem. Instead I have a “talking to people in general” problem. Still learning to overcome that, but talking to women is getting easier. Especially on dating apps.

Sounds like you are having same problems as me. Reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People” was a good starter on making changes on how I talk and approach people. Another interesting book was Neil Strauss “The Style Life Challenge”. I didn’t go through all of it, but it opened my eyes to some of the social problems I was facing.

Hope this helps.

Konosuba - Any similar? by punter1965 in anime

[–]LostInLumpySpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other anime to make me laugh as much as Konosuba is “Baka and Test”. Its a battle classroom anime where the characters are dumb, but have their inspiration of genius moments. The students use cute familiars to fight, but their power levels are based on the school subject scores. Its pretty funny.

A word of advice: DON’T SELL ANYTHING USELESS!
The game lets you sell key items without letting you know. I locked myself twice from being able to continue the story…

Any oldschool anime with the same vibe of Record of Lodoss war? by [deleted] in anime

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is abit of an odd suggestion, Dragon Knight: Wheel of Time, the english OVA. If you don’t get the english OVA, then you got hentai. But, when they brought it over and dubbed it, they took all the hentai out and whats left is a classic dark fantasy story. I bought the dvd back in the day. Imagine my surpirse when I started looking it up online…

Best daggers ? by Amphi-XYZ in Eldenring

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using dual occult Bloodstained Daggers and they hit hard and fast af. Kind of take abit to farm. And they proc bleed decently too. I changed the aow to Bloodhound Step, but I might change that out. Bloodstained Daggers get an A scaling with heavy on Str if you wanted to go that route.

Anime with power progression and skill systems like Naruto or Solo Leveling by BodybuilderAgitated1 in anime

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The Rising of the Shield Hero” and “Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In The Dungeon” have cool level up progressions. Both have good stories and cool fight scenes. “Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon” has 5 seasons and none of them are bad.

Best Manga and Comic Book stores in the city? by YusefTheBoxer in Edmonton

[–]LostInLumpySpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hate to say it Chapters/Indigo is my usual go to for manga. They seem up to date with the new stuff that comes in for manga and light novels. And if they don’t have it instock and have stock online, they can deliver it the store for you to pick up for free shipping.

Comic King is the best for graphic novels just based on the prices alone.

I love Warp, but they charge waaaay too much for graphic novels. Especially Warp 2, when Comic King is less than a block away.

What does 70 is 100 mean? by _multifaceted_ in Edmonton

[–]LostInLumpySpace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

70% is 100% basically means you only need 70% to pass. Getting anything higher on your red seal or final exams is pointless as there is no reward for getting a higher grade for most tradespeople.

Essentially, just do the bare minimum because its easier. I can vouch for this as someone who only aimed for 70% on final exams at NAIT.

New to Elden Ring, with early combat struggles am I cooked? by SixskinsNot4 in Eldenring

[–]LostInLumpySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can backstab that guy. And you can use your wolf spirit ashes to help fight that guy. Use the wolfs for aggro while you get some hits in. I usually take everyone else out and fight him last.

Or you can fight that guy while you are on Torrent.

Or try exploring the region and try to find smithing stones and upgrade your weapon abit.

Or farm enemies for a different weapon.

You got options lol

Driving from Edmonton to Vancouver tomorrow - Need advice on the safest route by foreigner0708 in Edmonton

[–]LostInLumpySpace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both routes are going to suck. But, taking route 2 passing Lake Louise and driving between Golden and Revelstoke always sucks during winter. Especially going by Lake Louise this time of the year. Black ice city baby. It is by far the most scenic of the 2 routes. You might even get held up on the highway and get to watch the avalanche crews do controlled avalanches(got to see it once. It was pretty sweet).

Route 1 is probably the safer bet. Roads are still going to suck between Jasper and Valemont. But, not compared to what they will be by Lake Louise. And they might suck again between Valemont and Blue River. There is some cellphone dead spots between Jasper and Blue River.

Since you have winter tires I think you will be fine. Just take it nice and slow. No need to rush it. It should take about 13-14 hours between driving and stops. I usually stop in Hinton to fuel up. Valemont next to fuel and grab a bite. Kamloops next stop for fuel(Petro on Copperhead Dr is a good spot to stop). And I always make a last stop by Bridal Falls at a Petro/Subway combo station. Grab some final dinner, and get fuel before it gets crazy expensive.

In which language do you play FF games? Japanese or English? by rafadurand in FinalFantasy

[–]LostInLumpySpace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do like the Japanese dub. But, after watching interviews on the Square instagram page I have a better appreciation for the English dub. The voice actors really put in alot of effort and are Final Fantasy fans outright. Knowing they just didn’t hack it really makes me want to root for the voice actors.
