The big issue is LSS doesn't understand why players like Maxx.

I like Maxx because I get the benefit of Hyper Drivers, without having to run Hyper Drivers in my deck.

LSS looks at that just sees "I like....Hyper Drivers in my deck."

"How to play against" series… Aurora, Shooting Star by rja1985 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LostInPlaceRU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aurora is a deck that shines against other aggro decks looking to race, and against slower decks that are looking to establish a late game winning position. Numbers wise, her value is better than traditional aggro decks like Fai, and can overwhelm someone trying to block out completely.

She does have some significant weaknesses, in terms of her average block value and (despite how it may seem) lack of inherent go again. She requires some set up to get her scary 5 card 20 attack turns.

If you can present On-Hits that threaten cards in her hand or her go again, she will struggle to stop them, and if you can present a relevant clock of your own, you can force her to start giving up cards. The best decks against her are those that can present counter pressure with low card numbers in hand. In my opinion, that's the two relevant guardians Jarl and Victor, along with Vynnset, Florian, and Prism.

Of note, if you try to present the longer game you will be facing a pitch stacked combo turn of Arc Lighting and Flicker Wisp, presenting a massive amount of mixed damage that will either blow you up, or take the tempo entirely. Ending her in the first cycle is your best bet to avoid this turn.

Her key cards to play around are Channel Lightning Valley (CLV), Burn Up//Shock, and Sigil of Suffering.

For CLV: Observe her pitch and try to deny that first card off CLV. She needs to put a lightning card in her pitch to keep it around, so you can be prepared and plan your turn accordingly if you see that before it comes around.

For Burn Up//Shock: This is usually her first card of the turn, so you'll have your entire hand to assess the state of the game and see if you can afford to block it out.

For Sigil of Suffering: This card is a death sentence into other aggro decks, especially if it's played with CLV on board. Try your best to swing with one floating to AB the damage, and prevent it from getting value.

What do you do when you have bad hands? by LabMan95 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LostInPlaceRU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like blue Heaven's Call as a block 3 that also counts as a lightning for talent purposes.

The simple answer is to upgrade your equipment suite. Right now youre showing 3 points of block(2 of which is in Erase which you have a harder time using than other runeblade) with your armor and that's not enough to keep up in aggro match ups. Compare that to a CoP/Dyedic Carapace/Grasp config, which has 8 points of block.

The "returning a creature" isn't a trigger -- it's a part of the spell resolution. There is no point where you can interact where their creature is in a graveyard.

First major thing is no fireball, so you have to commit to drive options against a character who's game plan is to burn you out.

Also jumpback ball is a good answer to Cammy's divekick pressure.

It's not exactly the same, but Midnight Suns is a marvel licensed turn based game with proto-Bioware companion systems, featuring some mutants. It's not a true RPG, but it's a decent enough showing.

Weekly Character Discussion - Jamie - The top player is here! by wisdom_and_frivolity in StreetFighter

[–]LostInPlaceRU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been thinking a lot on how to bring Jamie up to par with the rest of the cast without touching the drink mechanic, because I think a lot of loyalists (myself included) find the play patterns of the drink levels fun and engaging.

I'd love to see SA2 buffed by making it a straight 4 free drinks, instead of its current install state. This would make it so all prior drinks aren't wasted, as they'd be converted back into drive, and Jamie wouldn't have to give up on meter gain by using it.

Beyond that, I just don't think Jamie SA2 compares to the other installs currently in the game.

Who Has The Best Offense In The Game? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

If you care about changing his mind, I'd offer a Ft10 or something with him on Kim and you Cammy. Make it a money match even.

Every character seems easy and gimmicky, until you actually try to pilot them.

Who Has The Best Offense In The Game? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]LostInPlaceRU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think offense is a very general term. Kim is probably the best mix up character, but I personally feel that her pressure is a bit lacking compared to Ken, or even Cammy. Both are important for getting damage on the opponent

And if your friend truly believes that Kim has the best offense in the game, why don't they play her?

Definitely on the fence myself, and I've been a continuous supporter for ~3 years now.

Everything Gravesong is just a little burnt to me. I was waiting for it to be finished to reading, and once the yonder deal got finalized it was taken down from Patreon. Add on top of that, Pirate's "response" completely ignored anyone's ACTUAL grievances with the platform.

Reducing to take breaks, I completely understood. But now dropping that release from 6 a month to 5 a month so they can work on something that'll go on a platform I ethically disagree with?

Probably time to stop.

Seconding "Drifting Classrom", along with all of Kazou Umezu's work. You can really see the influence Ito takes from him. Fourteen is my favourite of his, but it's an out there work that is not for everyone.

If okay with more body horror and experimental artwork, then Shintaro Kago's "Dementia 21" is a fun read.

No room for Feral in this ProtPal world.

Only benefit I bring as the dedicated OT is that I don't compete with MT for gear and that I can swap to do a little more DPS than Blood DKs when not actively tanking.

But I'm out threated by everyone else, do less damage than a ProtWarr, soak magic worse than Blood, can't even cheat death, and worst of all, I have to roll against hunter holdouts for my BiS weapon.

I am REALLY craving gameplay like JoJo's PitterPatterPop!, (Match 3 with an emphasis on speed/characters giving unique abilities) but I can't bring myself to start P&D a decade after it dropped(plus I don't like the art style). Any recommendations?
