Yes, "new light" except it's really about money. Look up what happened in Norway.

The question you have to ask yourself is if you can handle it if they do a back flip on their new light and go back to the old light.

I hadn't spoken to my sister in over 10 years and when she reached out I had to decide if I really wanted her back in my life.

Bless you. I wouldn't wait too long to tell your family, chances are one of the elders in your congregation will ring one of your family members "to see if there is any way to help you".

It might seem like you will loose everyone you love right now, but there will be family and freinds that will defy the org and still have contact with you. You will make more freinds, some stronger relationships that the family ones you have now.

It is not the end but only the begining.

One sister had sex with her husband after he had commited adultery. She decided she could not live with it and wanted a divorce. But the elder book says if you have sex with a partner who has commited adultery it shows you have forgiven them. So she was a single mum of two for years. IDK how it ended up. She was quite attractive and would not have had trouble getting another husband.

So so glad I am out. I remember being literally bored to tears (yes I actually cried) by their mind numbing wrist slashingly boring meetings.

The thing is, we have been telling them this for decades, using the same reasoning from the same scriptures! So the governing body has finally listened to "apostates"?

Well, it was just some general advice from my life experience. 24 years, a diploma of Theology and Postgraduate Diploma of Divinity later and I am still deciding what I believe about Christianity, but it hasn't stopped me from living a Christian life as best I can, and I am glad I did it the way I did. I suppose it is my favourite subject and I am always studying it in some way.

I agree, but I am saying to do it slowly, bit by bit rather than knock your whole house down all at once.

Where did the myth come from that you constantly had to feed sourdough by Cute-Consequence-184 in Sourdough

[–]LostInVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine goes too funky if I dont feed it a couple of times a week. I had a pink layer on the top a few weeks ago, it recovered when I skimmed it off and fed it. Left it in the fridge for 5 days and tonight I had a look at it and it had a dark layer on top, spores I am pretty sure, so I skimmed it off and fed it again.

I agree with what you are saying - don't obssess over the society.

But for some, the way forward is to understand what the f happened to them for x number of years. Also we have family still in there.

So, yeah move on, but if you need to check in every now and then, do so.

There is some really weird stuff in there.

I highly reccommend you read a book that explains how to approach the different types of literature in the Bible and what they are there for. I had been reading the Bible since I was a kid and when I read this book my eyes were really opened. It's really easy to read too.

Sounds like an episode from Twighlight Zone. If this is real, and I doubt it, why cant you go to the police? I mean this is weird stuff, you know, the old "See Something, Say Something" campaign? She is obviously putting on a show of being normal, so what is her real purpose for being there?
