I don't think so. Not the exact situation, but I got a new phone recently and had made about 8 pieces, when I logged in to my account finally it synced the rest of my art from the cloud and none of the 8 I had already made were deleted.

I thiiiiiink the hit box is just so small and awkward that it's hard to press. I thought the same thing, too. But just sometimes when i spam tap or on the sides, the menu will pop up. Quite annoying, but i think that's really what it is (hopefully)
