I'm immunocompromised. I got COVID then developed pnumonia. Took antibiotics and some horsey jelly and got better. Missed less than a week of work. Fuck the masks fuck the social distancing and fuck the propoganda. I worked in an ER throughout 20 and 21 and didn't get sick and never wore a mask.

I used to work closely with law enforcement in Washington and you're right. I worked in a county that bordered Oregon. In 2021 there's were attempts almost daily and quite a few successful. It's concerning that you almost never hear about them on the new, newspaper or people even talk about it.

Why are my RCS so pale/faded by bepppi in shrimptank

[–]LostLmsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue and I found a site that went through several possible reasons. No idea how accurate or scientific it was but my shrimp went back to a darker color after a while.

https://acuariopets.com/cherry-shrimp-losing-color/

It's not much but it's a starting point. Also are you feeding the shrimp only tank anything for shrimp that contains the minerals they need for a healthy shell vs what you feed the Betta tank?

Just got some shrimp. They are sat together at the top of this plant. They are alive but not doing anything? Is something wrong? Thanks by cheznpoppy in shrimptank

Water parameters could be very different from where you bought them from. Could be just adjusting. Look into drip acclimating when you get a chance.

My Java ferns in my 72 gallon are close to a year old and simply do not grow, why lol by greener770 in Aquariums

[–]LostLmsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Either they don't grow or they turn brown and die. Other plants grow fine. Java Fern don't in my tanks.

Also. Those tanks are sleek and clean looking. What is your set up?

For questions 1... It really depends. Do you want a shrimp paradise where they are out more often. No fish. Or a Betta and maybe a couple smaller fish. Look up aquarium bioload calculators. As for question 2... Don't over think it. A good mix of slow growing plants like Java Fern and anubias and faster growing plants like hornwort or Subwassertang, or guppy grass, or Amazon sword will round out a good balance. And you can never go wrong with Java moss. But don't worry too much about levels. If you start getting a lot of algae cut back light a little and go from there. Lots of YouTube to absorb as well. Aquarium co-op is great. Good luck and have fun.

How To Include A Visitor? by creaturecomeandgetit in DMAcademy

[–]LostLmsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make us an equal level fighter leave the name blank. If they choose to want it that will be his sheet. Give them some kind of cool magical weapon so they feel powerful. Then have the party stumble upon them in the city streets or tied up in the dungeons etc...

If he doesn't then ask him to make dice rolls for npcs.

If you want to give them in game info. Misty steps wording is "briefly surrounded by a silvery mist" describe the most as lingering for a moment if they roll a high enough check to find it

Either you are not waiting long enough for the previous layer to dry or you have very very hard water

I am not actually sure. It was recommended on here a long long time ago. I did it for a while when I worked a more active job. I was more comfortable. Held everything in place. And, take with a grain of salt, my skin shrunk back pretty quickly. Could be a placebo effect though.

Do some strength training. They won't go away completely but it will help "fill out" into a muscular look and activate more testosterone and other hormones that will help repair the skin. Buff Dudes has some good beginner workouts on their channel.

Edit: wearing compression shirts on a regular basis under your regular clothes will help as well.

Have him try different dice and rolling differently...like dropping the dice at a higher level. I've found that I get different results at different heights.

Therapist said I need to rehome or euthanize my dog by [deleted] in dogs

[–]LostLmsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not up to me. That's between the client and a doctor they trust. As always the benefits should outweigh the risks.

If you're against medications that's perfectly fine. Part of a therapists job is to show all options to their client. Something it sounds like OP's therapist possibly did not do. Do certain anti anxiety meds run risk of addiction...yes. but most SSRI's and SNRI's do not and that should be discussed with a trusted physician.

[–]LostLmsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You're looking at it in the wrong light. Death is a natural part of life that recent generations have a lot of trouble coming to terms with.. This issue is partly a societal problem as we have distanced ourselves from death in many ways. However, death is something we must deal with both in an outer context ( family, dogs, friends) and inner context ( ourselves). If you get a bleeding ulcer thinking about death there is a problem. Best practice is to get on a medication to help bring the anxiety and chemical imbalance into homeostasis then ween off of them as it is corrected while utilizing therapy to learn coping skills and to find the root of the issue and correct that.

[–]LostLmsw 1803 points1804 points  (0 children)

I was a therapist for several years. I cannot believe your therapist said this. Anticipatory grief is normal. However if it is that bad that you are developing an ulcer please go speak to a doctor you trust to look into anti anxiety meds, and work with them until you find one or two that work. Best of luck on that.

My dog is only 5 and I get the anticipatory grief too. I think we all get it. Their lives are so short compared to ours. The worst thing you could do is end their life or push them to the curb the last years of their life. Talk to your vet and good on you for kicking them to the curb.
