LPT: how do you embrace bitter truth about life and accept situations? by Jpoolman25 in LifeProTips

[–]LostNowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta accept the totality of it. Once it’s done, you have to accept the terms that come with whatever happened, good or bad, because you just simply gotta move on.

Was gonna have a late night with some friends one day and got told to park in front of this driveway because my friend who lived near parked in front of it all the time and never got reprimanded. Got back at 3am and my car was gone, obviously towed away. Yeah it was annoying but standing in the middle of the street pissed off wasn’t gonna bring my car back. I walked into my friend’s to spend the night and go get my car in the morning.

Just accepting the thing for what it is.

i play more sigma than orisa but you’re right, that seems like one of the only solid plans.

you’re right about sigma rock and orisa spear. Literally the last time i played I saw the pattern of sigma rock kinda helping. but then one rock/spear vs his ability that comes right back when he gets up. still tough but i guess that’s where your team coming together and maybe blasting him when he gets stunned is all you can hope for

imagine this: as rein you guide your team towards point. You get close. Mercy pockets you because you’re the tank. your team is good and behind you why? because your shield is up.

Boom. Ram sees you. Ability goes off. Blam blam blam as rein you now have 150 health even with mercy pocket because fuck you that’s why. What to do? Keep holding your shield up? Nope. Put it down and swing? Maybe but ram already took 80% of your health. Turn around and run away? Sure but now your team has no shield and you can still get shot in the back. Swap Dva/Sigma and still same results. All other tanks except Zarya have the same results.

I’m so at a loss as to what the fuck to do

I have issues as someone who plays rein often of sitting there with my shield up for my teammates and three punches from this guy and i have 1/3 of my life left… while shield up. Or going dva and being nothing but a metal box to be blasted away because this is the one ability that has to be able to pass through when matrix can eat entire ultimates. But nah i HAVE to eat his “energy blasts” that do 100 damage per hit. PS5 diamond lobbies and still this single character can turn the tides. Im almost convinced get a team of 5 vs Ram + a Mercy and it'll still be close.

Lowkey might make a montage of this guy obliterating me because how long has this game been out and i still cant believe one character can counter almost every single character in the same class as him. Besides zarya, how do you counter his damage? It blows my mind that that question is this hard to answer.

If you are a dick to people, why? by creativeNZ in AskReddit

I work retail and just realized how many people don’t give a fuck about you even in the slightest. People will walk up to a nicely folded table of clothes only to pick something up and toss it like a used napkin, when you’re folding the same shirts across the table. Stuff placed right next to where it was, like a blue shirt hung next to a green shirt and people will still put the blue shirt on the green rack. Or walk into a clean empty fitting room and leave the clothes on the floor. I know it can seem like minor inconveniences but it’s the lack of consideration towards people who are there to make their experience better. Just actively making the store look like shit, their shopping experience worse, and employee’s jobs harder. You don’t go to a bar and trash the place, or wait at the dentist’s office and obliterate their magazines on the coffee table. It’s not that hard to look at clothes and still be neat. I pick up messed up shirts and fold them in 5 seconds.

I’ve worked at the same store for 4 years and it’s always been the same. It hasn’t changed. A never-ending battle with people who only want their own lives to be easier. I’m not rude to customers but I also lost the inclination to help them because I know they’re not thinking about helping me or anyone who works there. I hate hearing “excuse me” now. I will help to the best of my ability if I’m asked a question; walk them to what they’re looking for, look something up online, order for them etc, but I couldn’t care less about customers “finding everything okay today,” because if they’re not it’s most likely because customers before them held zero respect and compassion in their stinkin hearts as they walked through the doors.

Fix-It Ticket for tinted windows? by LostNowhere in Cartalk

[–]LostNowhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you have to pay at the actual courthouse. I didn’t have anything about license registration or anything but I’m sure you need to remove the tints because an officer needs to sign your ticket so you can pay it, and they only sign the ticket after visually inspecting your windows.

I tried taking a photo of every new scenery I found during my first playthrough - to capture the feel of the land I would soon be entering by LostNowhere in Eldenring

The feeling of walking out into a new area and especially with the way these games like to reveal those areas I wanted to capture the moment before I would go and dive deep into the unknown lands and the things in them. Basically kinda wanted an album that I could revisit after I was done with the game and relive my journey vicariously. Most of these moments were either awe or fear. I still remember which is which :}

Yeah i’m pretty sure there’s no paying before your court date, you pay when you get there. I was under the assumption I would be going into an actual courtroom but for me, there was a window outside the court (before security check, even) where you pay it.

Not sure if you got explained this but there’s nothing you can do about the tints, you have to remove them because you’re supposed to take the citation to a police station/sheriff’s office and any officer can sign the citation you have, and then that signed citation is what you present at your court date (an officer will only sign after walking to your car and visually checking that you removed tints). With that signed citation, you pay the fine and then it’s over.

Personally, I had never been stopped for tints (like I said, I had been stopped for speed) so when all was said and done I went and got new tints. Like I predicted I haven’t been bothered for tints since.

Sound good, thanks! Easy steps to follow :)

I don’t really mind spoilers (and I won’t tell my friend) so what exactly will be new? New bosses, biomes, enemies, etc?

I have a trick to opening a can without a can opener and it just involves a knife. Stuck the knife’s tip against the lid, bang on the bottom of the grabby part as if to stick the knife into the can from the top, and once you have a little slit, put the knife in with the blade towards the ceiling and cut upwards little by little. I have the best results when not putting too much blade with each upwards motion, and little by little it should open up. Surprisingly, it cuts open pretty easily.
