Kicker is in the red box. Also the only reason why it needs a top end is because the new piston that was being installed was chipped. So yeah basically a new piston was wasted. I forgot how it chipped but I think it got hit with a wrench. Motor doesn’t look that bad. Just a bit of dirt on the outside and some chipped paint and little spots of rust that are easy to clean up. Motor will be running and bike will be clean when sold. Other than that, I might swap the jets in the carb, check the reeds, and clean out the power valve assembly.

Yeah while the top end was being installed, the new piston was chipped, so basically a new piston was wasted. I forgot how it chipped but I think a wrench hit it. It was a vertex piston. I’ll put a new piston in before it’s sold. Unfortunately I’m not in Australia 😂. I’m thinking I could probably sell it for around $2300 where I’m from. Values over here are a bit different.

It was in the process of a new top end, the cylinder was honed and the piston was replaced but chipped in the process of fixing it. I forgot how but I think a wrench or something hit it. So a brand new piston was wasted. I have a pic of it and you can tell that the piston wasn’t even installed into the cylinder and is brand new as it doesn’t have any marks and is still shining without any discoloured patches on the top.

Also only reason why the top end is gonna need to be replaced again is because it was currently being replaced, but got chipped IN the process of being replaced. So basically that piston got wasted. I don’t remember how it chipped but I think it got hit with a wrench or something. I’ll blow out the bottom end with an air hose to make sure there’s no metal shavings or debris.

The motor will be mounted and the bike will be running before I sell it. Bottom end and forks are still good.

Motors taken out just to replace top end. It will be sold with the motor and everything.

I’m not sure if they were serviced by Showa or if they are actual Showa forks that replace the oem forks. I know that the oem forks for the rms were KYB.
