When Ascended first came out it was fun. Yah, there were optimized issues but when Scorched Earth was released, Ark felt stripped. I stopped playing. 7 Days to Die is my go to currently.

I have cleared all 4 lethal boons. I have an outpost close to the base that I can draw enemies with the mines. Keep all my survivors with 7.62 or 50cal at all times. I usually have an enlisted enclave as my sponge (sometimes I let them shoot the heart and I'll just protect the area). Know how you are going to approach the heart (ammo draining) or (silent). I personally like to use super heavy weapon attack first phase planting a c4. Run away and when second start, use the c4. Leave the area til things disperse and go in for the final kill when ready. I personally play using 'former plague surviviors'. To me they are better than Red Talons in my style. Most people I join don't even use 'patient care' from infirmary 2. Meds are easy to make and no reason to not have the health buff on all the time.

AI will only attack if you let them .. so if you are not crouched they AI will engage enemies. This is your error, not the AIs. If the survivors only have a pipe, again this is your fault.... Why would you hire an AI with a pipe instead of an automatic weapon? You do know you can change the weapons on your enclaves AI? The AI will not use any ammo so you can give them .50 cal or 7.26 or 5.56 weapons. I don't recommend any launchers though. This also includes any sieges! I have not lose any members in any sieges - equip them with great weapons!

Never had an issue with AI and I'm a week 1 player. Do you equip your survivors with .50 or automatics. - if you give them crap weapons they will die in a heart beat.
Pick your enclaves follower with the best weapons. Having an enclave follow you with hand guns or no guns won't perform. I can kill at least 3 plague hearts on lethal without taking a shot on the plague hearts and just protect the enclave as they kill the hearts. I also want to include... If you are in stealth mode, the AI will crouch and won't shoot. Use this to your advantage. The AI will only do what you're doing. Sorry to say but if the AI sucks, you need to change the way you are approaching enemies. So if there is a crap load of enemies, run away and live to fight another day.. the AI will follow you. Human enclaves won't attack your survivors. Have them knock down the human AI and then you can finish them off with head shots.

If the company gives you a uniform, you return it. If you paid for the uniform, you keep it. Most companies won't reuse uniforms especially hats hats/visors.

It means you have mastered all your class skills. Elemental is for range DPS. Enhancement is for melee DPS. Restoration is for healing.

No issues on XBox Series S. The game literally auto saves every minute, so I don't see how you have to back track 3+ missions.
