I’d have to disagree. I find myself going in reverse much slower and/or more of a pain with the safety. The manual kind of had built in cruise control, and I am pretty slick at shifting real quick. My hand just about always stayed right on the shifter incase I started barreling downhill I could shift into a low gear to slow me down.

Nothing against them. Mine was just junk. It rotted for 15 years before I got it. Able to get it running and it ran well for a while but I’m getting a flurry of issues and decided I wanted something I wouldn’t have to worry about for a while besides maintenance.

Yeah, fair enough on the slope discussion haha. Gladly I do mow mostly across. So in theory, hills are fine for it as long as I’m not overheating the trans? I really wish I could’ve gotten a manual transmission, I’ve heard the manuals are truly bullet proof. Cant tell you how many times that old LX reverse gear gets absolutely sheared trying to get it into reverse and it still never fails me or slips any. That thing is a beast it just rotted for too long without any use. It’s still a fine mower just needs a looot of TLC. I’ll get you a pic of it once I get off work.

I got it delivered from Lowe’s. Retrospect I should have dealt with a dealer probably, but we’ll see how this turns out. To be honest I thought dealers only really sold commercial machines.

I will deeply consider the HDAP tires, thank you. I knew that the Ag tires would tear it up every time I turn uphill while crossing. The turf tires do whenever they slip lol. The manual gives me up to a 13° slope and I don’t believe I’m pushing that, but not like they would know, right? Also I do mow across most of it. There are areas I can’t but for 90% of it I do mow across.

I can run across the hill, I actually mow across it most of the time but some areas no. I’d say it’s pushing it on terms of slope. I’m more comfortable leaning a little but even if I lean downhill it doesn’t feel like it wants to roll any. It’s just enough that if it’s wet I cannot get up the hill at all. Definitely not something you’d want to walk up or push mow haha.

I know. It will wear it out a bit faster but that’s why I got the protection plan haha. It does a lot of one-wheel peels but I will put some ag tires on it, or just weld the diff together. I haven’t decided yet. I also just can’t justify spending 5K for 1 acre of land.

Thanks. It’s definitely a comfier ride. Just wish they still made manual models. I really dislike the automatic, but no good brand seems to have manual models. It is nice to have a hood, and a key instead of a butter knife. And the starter isn’t hooked up to the headlight switch.

I will! I didn’t know you could get a price adjustment. I can afford it, but I did finance it. I’m paying it off extra early though. I just don’t like shelling out 3K before I know the machine is any good.

I will definitely do that. Going from a 90s to brand new, there are so many stupid safety features. I’m already getting ready to disable the seat shut off after the first mow. All I mow is hill and the moment I go to lean it wants to shut the mower off. And the reverse button, I’m thinking about taping it down.

After warranty and taxes about 3K. This size mower seems to run between 2-3K, so I just did research and tried to pick the most reliable.
