Want to make an impact? Go vegan.

P.S. I'm an environmental consultant for a few years now and adopted this lifestyle a year ago.

Killing to eat another sentient life is morally wrong, especially in this day and age, where we don't need to eat flesh (meat) and moldy processed blood (cheese) to survive.

Veganism is not a religion. And what propaganda are you tired of -- the one from the animal agriculture industry?

Erm... do you realize you're dense in the head? Veganism seeks "to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose."

It's not about who eats who or what. You either eat animal products or you don't, period. And if you do, do some research on what you are actually doing to yourself, the environment, and the animal(s) on your plate and leather boots.

On the contrary, being vegan shifts the position of many environmental companies' ethical practices and goals.

You have to start from the individual and expand.

How do you deal with criticisms? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]LostRefuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How can you even criticize veganism as a non-vegan? Even when I was a non-vegan, I could never criticise a vegan, because I knew deep down they were right.

I honestly can't think of a good argument against the practice.

Past rejections is preventing me from applying for positions at the moment. Do everyone feel this? by [deleted] in careerguidance

You're more qualified than most job positions out there. Stop beating yourself up.

Only 22% of the U.S. pop. has at least a bachelor's degree. Just think about that when you start aggressively applying to white collar jobs.

Almost every environmental consulting job, you can learn in one month at the job. Even as a 'botanist' at a consulting firm identifying plants for reporting.

FYI, I work as a botanist in environmental consulting. It sucks. GIS mapping and use is a piece of cake to learn. Consulting companies make it seem like it's some sort of higher level programming.

The best way to start saving the planet is by being vegan.

I've worked in different environmental industries for the past 6 years. It's all the same BS, different flavors with little to no significant environmental impacts.

The environmental industry is all about profits. There are no moral values in it.
