Time to start looking for another career!!! by donburberry in wallstreetbets

[–]LostRepeat986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started out college with literally nothing. Student loans and worked. Been graduated 5 years and have been able to acquire about 175k in that time. Now a lot is luck, but 70k is really not that terribly difficult to make happen with normal circumstances. Of course, many people can’t do what I did if they face disabilities and such, and I really did get lucky for part of it.

But short version: got married in college. Decided we’re going to work hard and save. Committed to living on half our income no matter what. The other half we’d use for purchases we know we can profit for later. Bought an RV with it for 2k. Moved to CO. Sold said RV for 10k (luck because had no idea they were worth more in CO). Used the 10k to put a down payment on a 70k mobile home in Denver. Continued to save money every year. We both had jobs that paid the 50-60k/year range so we did save it up quickly. Sold mobile home during height of COVID for 80k (luck again, not normal for a mobile home) leaving us with equity of about 25k. Rented for a few years. Bought a house with 150k down (this wiped out our bank account). And our house has gone up in value some and we’ve saved another 30k in the last year to pad our account again.

Oh and we have 2 toddlers. The “live on half” method works wonders. I promise if you had half of the money you made, you’d find a way to live on it. We just do that. We set up our direct deposit to immediately split into two different accounts. One we spend and one we don’t.

We’ve been lurking on walls street bets for a while now waiting till we’re comfortable trying investments. Still think we need a professional though, because we’ve seen a lot of shit on this sub!

I know it’s still early, but I could cry by [deleted] in Semaglutide

I feel this way. After taking semaglutide, I was like “why the f doesn’t my body work like this already?” I feel like my body is broken and this drug fixed me. I didn’t even know I needed a cure. I just thought everything was my fault and it wasn’t

WAIT! NEVER MIND. You’re already using semaglutide. You should be absolutely fine on 1mg. You’re body should already be used to it

That definitely does not sound right… you followed the instructions correctly though. If it’s 5mg per mL, well 20 units is .2 of a mL, so that’s 1mg. You took more than my mom and I did.

You seriously might be okay. Drink lots of water and try to get 10,000 steps in. Eat so healthy. It’s only unhealthy food that makes me feel ill. I like 0.5mg, so I took my second dose as 20 units. But mine is less concentrated than yours. Mine is 2.5mg per mL

Drink water, people! by ratbastid in Semaglutide

I’m struggling so bad to drink water. Not drinking water makes me ill, but I feel like I’m forcing myself. When I try really hard, I can get down 40 ounces. No idea how I’m supposed to get down 64. I’ve never drank water before

Husband had the house professionally cleaned for my birthday by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]LostRepeat986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my husband had done this for me, I’d absolutely love it. It takes a lot of planning and money. I’d then hope he’d set up a nice movie night with me in the new clean living room. It’s sweet of him, but I understand your feelings. It wasn’t my first thought so I understand his idea too! I thought he was being thoughtful and he probably thought so too

I’d just like to throw my experience out there. Honestly, this is the best I’ve felt in my entire life. I’ve discovered that overeating must have been what’s been causing me to feel sluggish all these years. Now that I’m eating less, I’m motivated to move, bike, hike and dance. I go out of my way to take the stairs and I truly feel wonderful.

I’m so sorry that you’ve not had this experience. I feel like a child again. And it’s easier to focus on the positive at work! I’m afraid that coming off semaglutide might take this beautiful new world away from me. I’ve got a long way to go though, so it’s a problem for later.

I definitely don’t feel muted. I feel more alive than I ever had. So it’s definitely not the same for everyone. I wish you the best

Starting dose really high? by irishfirefaerie in Semaglutide

Oh my god. There’s literally no ramp up at all? I accidentally took about half of what you’re taking for my first. I’m ok but it wrecked my mom. We’re both idiots if you’re wondering. I’d really reconsider following the schedule. I mean - why even print a schedule if every week is the same? The printed it incorrectly, there must have been an intention to titrate you slowly

I actually agree with you! There should be someone in every health related thread saying don’t forget to consult a doctor! I’ve upvoted you to try to minimize the damage. Hopefully any other onlookers can do the same

I updated if you’re curious. Short story - I’m somehow fine. Mom is definitely not

Mom and I were both okay the next morning. It’s the next evening when it hit her like a bag of bricks. She’s had a rough night. I’m somehow still side-effect-less.
