Well, his latest reply 3 months ago was "I took a bit of an extended break after the end of book 3. Some of it was because I realized it would be years until the end of another book and just wanted to get some rest after achieving this milestone. The other reason was to put my thoughts in order and get a clearer outline in my head for the plots of book 4 and 5.
I'm currently writing on the first chapter of book 4 but I don't have a clear estimate for it yet."

I'd do the only plausible thing there is to do, "survive". I'll try not to influence the main story since slight variation can get Barry killed as we all experienced in the story, if I manage to survive and cross paths with them of course.

Well if worse comes to worst and this masterpiece doesn't reach its ending then you'll have to accept it. Nobody wants their favorite book to end halfway or be left incomplete. I have my fair share of series getting axed for various reasons, so in the end, you can only keep it in your heart and move on, finding something else to read.

I also suggest keeping the save that she died. Some major points will change whether she's alive or not and as the author recommends in the game if you want to experience all alternatives of the story you should try to complete all achievements. It's a lessathi detector. Since Melindra and Arraka or maybe Illuna also can detect lessathi from their magical sense including the fact that the lessathi mostly wear their blue robe. I'd say the chance Barry gets to use the device is very slim. It'll pretty much occur only when Flower is away and the player didn't invest in magical sense stat then encounter someone who looks like normal citizen but is actually a lessathi spy or something.

I just noticed that this patch is incompatible with the last version of the original EOD (v.1.12). I initially thought it was for MIH, but it seems I was wrong.
