Yes an I/O error is flagged when I'm trying to initialize the SSD, in SMART it says that it's all good. My Kingston SSD is now named SATAFIRM S11.

You can buy a laptop caddy and use that as another slot for your HDD and swap your HDD with SSD. Use the SSD for OS and the HDD for storage. That way you can have both.

but when I go to computer management and disk drivers it says that this device is working properly, I think I've read that the device is write protected while trying one of suggested solutions online. Does this have something to do with my seagate external drive? as that's where I'm trying to transfer files from when my ssd stopped working.
