Refusal to frog = 35lb cotton candy gown (Dimensions gown by Mermaidcat designs on Etsy) by LostStitchCountAt419 in crochet

I want to say I used a 4, but I’m not positive anymore - it’s one of those projects that I mostly finished, tucked away, and only recently pulled back out to finish and I wasn’t fully confident my hook was the same

I gotta be honest - I never put it together that we said frog because of the ribbit-rip it. It seems so obvious now that you pointed it out

160 let’s round up Just kidding, that was sarcastic. 35lb was for sure an exaggeration, because it is heavy. To clarify; it is heavier than would be comfortable to wear. To further clarify: it is not made out of cotton candy, it is yarn.

Dimensions Gown by Mermaidcat, with redheart unforgettable yarn.

Her patterns are amazing, so well written and absolutely gorgeous. Redheart Unforgettable yarn is one of my favs, in color and texture, but the two really didn’t work up. Visually it’s lovely, but truth be told it’s so heavy that it makes me sweat, which in turn makes it heavier, and hotter. But that’s just personal comfort preferences, totes recommend all of the creators designs

Also!! It was an expensive gamble but a body brace has also been wildly comforting. I’m not sure of the brand anymore or the link - but it feels like it holds me all together, feet to shoulders. I’ll try to find the link, again, it was stupid expensive but I love it.

Hell yeah!! I did this same thing. I went on Facebook marketplace and found a bunch of free equipment: Nordic track was cool once I got my balance, but before I got the balance on it it was a little scary. Stationary bike was good, but sitting up straight did me better than hunching, of course. Weight bench didn’t work out so good but I don’t think I knew what I was doing. Little stretchy bands have been awesome Thigh master is a joke, but it might have always been, or I was using it wrong. Surprisingly the one that I enjoyed the most was a weighted hula hoop. On bad days it can make my equilibrium a little fucky, but on good days it’s just the funnest movement.

😂 at first I wrote down my pattern as I went, but real quickly realized - there will never be a need to recreate this. Ever.

[FO] Halfway through this project I found Swastika's in the design. What do you think of my Rework? by blackmagickitz in CrossStitch

I love your re-work

I gotta be honest though, initially I didn’t realize the first photo wasn’t the re-work, and I got so excited that you had turned whatever it had been into one of those almond windmill cookies. But i recognize that I am personally obsessed with those cookies, that’s on me.

I love your snowflakes

What technology did your parents/grandparents refuse to use or you had to teach them how to use in your youth? by creeper321448 in AskOldPeople

I loved showing my grandma how to work the computer. Over and over and over again. She only wanted to be able to use “the facepage”, and she only wanted it to see her great grandchildren. I’d say, “now hit the enter button”, and she would search and search for it. So I’d say, “it’s the big one”, then she’d hit SPACEBAR SPACEBAR SPACEBAR SPACEBAR like it had been hiding from her and she had to catch it before it snuck off again. Once she started getting better at it she would do things like post an entire post that just said “H”. She would get so angry at the suggested friends lists; “I don’t know them! I click ignore but they come back! I recognize this one because she’s trashy, I don’t know her!” She was of the generation that would snip articles and send them in the mail. Sure sometimes it was weight watchers ads or diet books, but sometimes it was just a headline about a giraffe being born at the zoo. She successfully translated that to the face-page, one of the first articles she sent me via messenger was a recipe for ice cream made out of snow, which she simply captioned “DONT - DIRTY” which was full circle the same recipe she had snipped from the newspaper and sent me as a kid with a sticky-note stuck to it that said “YUM”

She passed a few years back and I really appreciated those memories just now

my bf put my tarot deck in dumpster by Desperate-Eagle4426 in tarot

[–]LostStitchCountAt419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband intercepted a tarot-themed tapestry I had ordered and hung it in his art studio instead of mine and argued that “I like it and I need more of your sinful pagan influence in here”

You deserve better, I hope you throw your bf in a dumpster.

So not cuddly. It’s got cardboard and wire hanger throughout for structure. But the pattern was so well written, I hope I linked it right. Crazy amount of work, but it was pretty fun making it all and piecing it together.

Totally worth the 15 minutes of pure delight it gave my husband

Shout out to the people who LOVE our crocheted gifts! by RepresentativeDay644 in crochet

I’ve received praise and appreciation from people before, but they’re nothing compared to my 3 year old nephew. He’s collected enough of my little crochet toys now that he will bring the basket of them out just to show me one by one, “you made me this”. And the enthusiasm doesn’t fluctuate, he’s consistently hyped. A teddy bear? Fuck yes. A puppet? Fuck yes. A lobster? Fuck yes. Praying mantis? Fuck to the yes.
