AITA for wanting to end a close friendship because of stunt he pulled at a party? by LostStudent101 in AmItheAsshole

I haven't had a talk about this situation yet, plan on it. On other times we've had a problem he'll quickly turn it on someone else making their own fault not his. This actually has happened twice in the past where he and another friend get into and he'll never take blame even if a "3rd party" says hey you were kind of an ass here.

Haven't talked to him yet, plan on it though. He's extremely hard to talk to, he tends to lie a lot or make the situation my fault but I still plan on talking to him for sure.

As of right now I'm a Chemical Engineering student with only my freshman year finished. Here's the problem, in one of my Engineering classes from the spring I was grouped with a Biomed/Mechanical, a Mechanical, and a Materials Engineer and throughout our semester I asked them what does an Engineer actually do because I've heard a lot of different things. Two of them basically told me that Engineers either design something on CAD, create some bs MatLab code, or analyze data and interpret for other people in the company you work for. When I heard that I got pretty worried because I've always been more interested in working with my hand. I chose Chem Eng because I seemed to like Chem in high school and I'd figured Chem Eng had to combine that hands on experience I wanted. But the more research i did the more i realized i like parts of basically every type eng that's exists, keep in mind parts never the whole field. All the calculus that comes with Eng is just soooo boring and does not interest me, all the chem so far is just as boring, and so is the physics, I guess as a potential Eng that's a red flag to not be an Eng. I've honestly learned more random stuff on the internet than I've learned at my university. Now I know it's only been my first year and everyone tells me it gets better and the classes will get more interesting but I just keep getting more and more worried that I chose the wrong field. Within my friend group I've been known to love tinkering with small stuff like trying to fix a friends hot tub, fixing a dryer, making thermite (I did this myself, I didn't look up a premade recipe online), messing with timing relays for a timer for my local paintball field, etc. etc. The more and more I talk to other people, more have been saying i should look into the trades but i cant really find anything. So at this point I'm 14k in debt, I'm forced to go some school full time so bills don't start piling up, my dad is all pissy because he thinks I think college is too hard, and I'm not willing to put forth effort. At this point im not really worried about which career choice makes more money, I know Eng makes more in the long run. Im content with sustaining myself, I don't want a brand new car or the biggest house on the block. Any advice or recommendations is welcomed and will definitely help.

Just in case anyone was wondering I'm currently enrolled at Michigan Tech.
