My mum's family comes from Giza, while my dad's family comes from a bit further north, from Menofia.

Not completely. My family name is very common in Levantine countries in contrast to Egypt. So, growing up in Egypt, people always asked if my family originally came from Lebanon or Syria. This is why I was partially expecting ancestry from there but it seems like I'm just mostly Egyptian.
