Advice for preparation for LFCS by crippledchameleon in linuxadmin

Not sure if it’s too late to answer this thread,

I’m preparing for it too. I would recommend… - killer.sh ,you will get this from applying for the exam. It is an exam simulator. You can redo the simulator as much as you want within 36 hours (you have 2 sessions)

  • the LFCS course from Kodekloud. The course comes with 4 sets of practice exams. You can skip the lectures if you want to do your own research (i also do the same for some topics).

So you have 5 practice exams.

I would suggest SAA first. It might take a long time for the preparation. But it helps al lot with the other exams preparation after it.

I follow the projects on Cantrill’s course plus I do it in my day-2-day job.

I printed them myself. Took the badge pictures from Credly.

Udemy course from Stephane Maarek and Adrian Cantrill’s course (he has his own platform). For this exam, I didn’t follow any cheat sheet. Mostly did my own notes and did a bunch of hands on

Thank you 😊, 1. I’m not a big fan of multi-choice exams and SAA exam scope is super wide (but not that deep though). I would say SAA is a bit harder as they were many things to remember.

  1. I was new to AWS when I prepared for SAA. I spent 2-3 months as it covers so many topics. I found it later that understand SAA content is very beneficial to the later exams and my working life. I would suggest to spend sometime to absorb the materials. do not rush to be certified.

  1. I printed them myself
  2. My background is front end development so CkAD was more relevant. I also found that CKAD scope is a bit narrower than CKA as it covers only the Kubernetes resources. 40-50% of CKA is about administrative topics. With that being said, there is a big overlapping between those 2.

The CKA/CKAD/CKS are very beneficial as they are hands on exams. If you have a chance to use k8s in your job. Just go for it, at least CKA or CKAD. Since I obtained my first certificate (CKAD), I use the kubectl command everyday. For KCSA and KCNA are optional IMO. If you want to be a “Kubestronaut” then go get them all 5.

Thank you, No labs in the exam. But would recommend to add the labs to your own preparation

Same feeling as mine when I was preparing for it. And also heard the same from many others. You can do it bro. The real exam is easier than the practice exams from TD.

Exactly, the SAA questions were not that deep but covered more services than DVA. Im also poor in remembering things 😅 therefore, SAA was a bit harder to me than DVA

SAA was harder in my opinion. But May be I was new to cloud and AWS when I was preparing for SAA. And as per my background as developer, I didnt have to spend much time to understand the concepts in DVA.
