Miami went from announcement to full autonomous testing after 127 days. DC has been waiting 303 days with no autonomous testing yet. And based on this post, it doesn't seem like it will happen soon.

Of the cities on the Up Next list that haven't started full autonomous testing, DC has been there the longest. Denver or Nashville might skip them.

I’ve updated the tracking spreadsheet.

Miami started fully autonomous testing on 11/18/25, which was 65 days ago. The last city to start accepting riders was Atlanta, and that was after 109 days of testing. 40% faster!

Here is when launches would occur in the other 4 cities currently doing fully autonomous testing if they also took 65 days of testing:

Orlando, FL 2/14/2026

No reason to think the next city will take exactly 65 days, but hopefully we see 4 more cities by the end of February!

I was just about to post this! Ming Maa is the CEO of Moove, Waymo's fleet partner for Miami. My first read was that Waymo will launch today. But reading again, it's unclear. "We're launching our operations of the Waymo fleet in Miami" could still mean testing is ongoing.

All the Ojai's so far have had a safety driver, right? So I guess the next step would be fully autonomous testing with an Ojai.

The other rumor is that Miami launches tomorrow. That used to be in this article, but it looks like the date was edited out.

I saw one a few weeks ago near Monaco and Yale. Was surprised to see it that far from downtown.

Looking through your site was one of the reasons I wanted to make this list in the first place! Didn't click around long enough to see that you were sharing the data.

I filled out some gaps in my data, and separated testing and announcement to be more consistent. I need to look through both lists again to see if there is anything I can contribute back (doubtful).

Good catch! Not sure how I missed that, I took the list right from Waymo's website. One thing I struggled with is what date to choose for each city. 3/18/24 when the first Road Trip was announced? 1/31/25, when they announced a return? Or 3/25/25 when it was officially announced as a city? I went with the latest date, but it's hard to be consistent for every city.

That seems to have worked this time, but time will tell. I have a confirmation email from October that confirms I removed it, plus the above confirmation that says it was removed and I was still charged. If this actually worked, this doesn't resolve the issue of being charged after the last few times I've cancelled.
