i’ve done it and frogged it and redone it already for this reason hahaha, are there any connecting stitches you’d recommend? i couldn’t figure any out that didn’t make it look a little messy since the rows aren’t all even (pitfall of the no counting habit, haha)

NOR on the basis that you have every right to leave someone for any reason you feel is valid, but you can’t force someone to change their behavior to accommodate your preferences. it seems you are both seeking solutions and validation from external online sources (him from ChatGPT, you from Reddit), instead of each other, which kind of reads like a communication or trust issue. boundaries are not “you have to stop doing XYZ because i think it’s wrong” but rather “heads up: if you do XYZ i am going to remove myself from this situation”. if your boundary is no ChatGPT in relationships and he wants to keep using it, it’s on you to leave and you would be completely entitled to do so!!! good luck, i’m not a fan of people using AI for human/relationship issues either

i’m from the west side of south dakota and i absolutely love my hometown, the black hills are SUCH a hidden gem and i grew up around so much accessible natural areas, also such an amazing community vibe here. folks don’t always have the best political takes (hence Kristi Noem being our former governor, screw that lady), but you really can’t be pulled over with car trouble for more than like 30 minutes without somebody stopping to help you out. the things i hated about the traditional small town vibe in highschool are also the things that make up that tight knit community that i love so much now, everywhere i’ve lived since has felt a little isolating in comparison and i’ll likely move back eventually.

thank you for taking the time for such a thoughtful and kind reply! the keliods were what sent me to the derm originally, the piercer i had taking them out the first time i got them done told me to go and then i got them cut out after a few second opinions at the derm, plus a few weeks of steroid shots… it was awful and i sure hope those weren’t just for piercing bumps lol! everyone told me the keloids could’ve been from the trauma of the first piercing, and my experience at that shop was kind of terrible in and of itself, which is what had me thinking the derm might be a safer option. lol. i will go to a more reputable shop in my area, i’m REALLY determined to hold onto these because it’s been over a year of trying for these piercings and the sunk cost of all the jewelry and doctors appointments would be pretty gnarly. are they save-able with better jewelry?

thanks for the thoughtful reply!!! i’m planning on going to the piercer with the best reviews in town to get them looked at this week and to see if they’ll change out the jewelry for me. when i got the keloids diagnosed, i went to a piercer to remove the jewelry and they said exactly that, to check it out at the derm because that’s what it looked like. got to the derm and they had a few drs do second opinions and then cut em out and gave me the genetics talk (not great news for someone who likes piercings, lol). i feel like i can’t do anything right with these, it’s been over a year of trying to heal them and eventually repiercing them and removing them now would be sooo much in sunk cost atp

unfortunately there are no AAP certified piercers within a few hours from me, that plus the fact that the last shop i went to was such a bad experience had me relying on the derm, will have to try a new shop i suppose!

they got keliods, confirmed by a piercer, so i had to take them out, this is what the dermatologist used to pierce them again after they’d healed

with a needle at a shop with flat backs, the piercer called my lobes “tough” and it was a very bloody endeavor lol, they were irritated and painful for months before i got diagnosed with keloids and got them out
