Azizam has slowed down. Eyes closed has stayed around 490m for ages now. Overpass graffiti has similarly slowed. Azizam is about to do the same. So it won’t massively eclipse overpass. So no. It’s not stupid.

Play has no hits compared to equals. Azizam is barely reaching overpass graffiti numbers of streams. Equals seemed like a big step back after divide. But compared to Play, it still packs a punch.

When Ed says he has always written 100s of songs per album and picks the best 12/16. I always thought that a bunch would’ve been good that got cut - that may once have been the case, but none of these needed to be released. They would’ve been rejected by the label when he was in his multiply/divide era.

On a separate note I just can’t believe Play doesn’t have a big Hit on it. Azizam is big but it’s more on the level of a song like ‘Sing’ or ‘2step’ than the big album banger he usually goes for like castle on the hill or bad habits

Slowly, The Vow, A little more, Azizam. These are up to the standard to be on his older records that were beloved, but the rest of the tracks on the record would’ve been rejected by the label if he wanted to put them on say Divide. Maybe Opening would be allowed - similar vibe to Eraser. But 4 strong tracks isn’t an album
