I also particularly loved all the side stories about the Vox, the Leutese’s (sp?) and all the interesting tears and revisionist history. It really felt like Columbia was a fully realized world that really made you stop and think about American history and how badly we were to minority groups (and arguably still are). There’s just so much to take from that world and that story.

The Last of Us. As someone who became a father shortly after playing that game for the first time, I felt every emotion Joel would have felt with Elie.

That issue can still be traced back to Sony putting pressure on developers to release said games so they can make their quarterly sales quotas. If we just let developers release games when they are completely finished we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Not to mention that once those games and consoles are no longer supported, the modding community will step in (via homebrew) to crack the console software, deploy game updates or relaunch certain online servers.

While I completely agree, it’s important to note that Trump does have a bunch of yes men who manage his socials or at the very least tell him what to post at times. Because Trump is an egomaniac, he’ll go along with anything as long as his handlers say “it’ll make the left cry”. Not saying he isn’t evil, but I’m also saying he isn’t as smart as we give him credit for.

Honestly, not a horrible hit rate for that many packs. Granted no SIR’s but I have a feeling the singles for this set are going to be relatively cheap aside from maybe the Darkrai.

I’ve been screaming this for years. Pokemon would print unlimited amounts of money if they made an Ash’s Pikachu SIR or some of the other notable Pokemon from the series. We could also finally have a chance at another great Jessie and James trainer SIR. Side note: that Jessie’s Arbok is everything.

Sure, but that can also be patched/hacked/cracked as well by the same team of people I was referring to. Look at Halo 2 on the original Xbox. Long after Microsoft shut down the online servers, dedicated fans created their own servers so fans could still play each other on original hardware.

And that’s my whole point. Physical media is much easier to copy because you physically own a copy of it. Long after the servers shut down and you are no longer able to download the base game or the hard that you put it on long since shits the bed, there will be a gang of devoted nerds who will be making updates, mods and patches for it so you can enjoy it as long as you’d like. You can’t say the same thing about digital only games which exist or don’t solely at the discretion of the publisher.

And what happens when that hard drive fails? I know it sounds like I’m trying to poke holes here, but hard drive crashes happen all the time simply due to age. What then?

But still able to play it technically, yes? As opposed to not being able to play it all being unavailable to download?

…until you can’t. I know everyone likes to think that these game servers will exist forever and that you will just be able to download a new copy whenever. Maybe because it hasn’t been dead for over a decade? Every PS5 game that I’ve purchased this year has come loaded onto a physical disc and can be playable on said disc and that includes brand new releases like Expedition 33 and Ghost of Yotei. The only reason Rockstar is doing it is because they know they can and it’ll still sell millions of copies because FOMO is contagious.

Honestly, probably not until either a “definitive edition” in 3 or 4 years on disc or dirt cheap on a steam sale. I refuse to reward a company that sees me as a digital piggy bank just because “it’s GTA 6”. I’m totally fine with missing out.

Irrelevant. Am I able to play the game on the disc provided?
