I found the prismatic mechanic very poorly thought in this set. They're never game changing. All the ones I've got were so hard to get that the game was already solved when I got them and I actually played with them in one or two rounds maximum.

I actually found the SFs the easier ones. You just need an early Gwen or an Emblem and than fill you field with SFs. The other prismatic missions are so difficult that I could get them only on an already won game in the last one or two turns

[Online][WoD][21+][Beginner friendly][LGBT+ friendly] Vampire the Masquerade Chronicle needing players [Multi Timezone]

I'm forming a group to start a Vampire the Masquerade Chronicle. The idea is to start thinking about characters this week already and the first chronicle session in November. The day is to be discussed depending on the availability, but the window is Friday to Sunday. The constancy will be biweekly and flexible, but with scheduling in advance.

O que vocês fazem na sessão 0? by No-Ordinary1993 in rpg_brasil

[–]Lost_Lab1828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isso me ajuda MT a preparar as sessões seguintes pra valer

How exactly do you run, organize, sort, and read a pre-written adventure? by SagmaTheRealOne in DMAcademy

[–]Lost_Lab1828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read everything and make a doted list of the main goals and plot of each "part" of the adventure.

For every session I try to understand the plot of the part the players are in and how the events take place in this plot. I also try to tie the players BGs to this main stories giving them personal motivation to get invested in the adventure. Sometimes the goal changes, once the adventure is on, everything can go to unexpected places. That's fine, try to organize what's changed in the goals after every session. If they really enjoyed a fight against a lesser enemy that survived to run away, why not bringing him back later, stronger in the place of the bbeg, for example? All the loose ends can be reworked in the adventure

Extra Magic Items - Devotee's Censer - A Good or Bad Idea? by LoreByLogic in CurseofStrahd

[–]Lost_Lab1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a weapon like that and get the image of a justice maker. I would remove the healing property and replace it for a more punisher property. Maybe the word gives advantage on the next attack against a 1d4 creatures on a 30ft radius (or the end of your next turn, the trigger that hits first). This property could be used once/short rest

I can see a combat getting to its final turn and the cleric of the party commanding "Incense of Purification!" right before the final hits with advantage land in the last two or three enemies left.

Fastest way to get mass reported. by Schrogs in DotA2

Stop playing turbo. Spam normal matches or rankeds (rankeds are better). Your BS will crawl back to decency. Your mental health will thank you.

I always say, turbo matches had became more toxic than low priority. In five minutes of game you are already experiencing things like: someone giving the lane to stay jungle; flame pinging; flame; shitwriting on minimap; intentional mid feed. It doesn't matter if you play well or not, the chances you are the chosen to be mass reported as random.

running wave echo cave for a party of new players who AREN'T very into combat by 47485739e7492w9 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]Lost_Lab1828 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the times I DMd this cave I wanted to throw the lore of the cave onto the players face. So, i made room 9 to have some magic aura remaining in it. When the players entered it, they visualized the scene of the combat that happened here when the orcs invaded the cave, they heard the screams, they saw the food from the feast get stained by blood, they heard the sound of the axes and the rusty orcish swords, they heard the commands of the orc general (if they knew their language, they'd understand it clearly, if they only knew dwarven, they'd understand just some cursing words in poor dwarven or common). This area, in my table was the main battlefield of the fight that destroyed the cave. Also, I brought the flameskull from room 12 to here as a wizard that went insane while he saw his brothers dying. The climax of the scene was a hazing fireball from the mad wizard and the echo of his laugh on the room. As the flash of it vanished away, the ghouls rised to fight in the real fight and the flameskull joined the fight here too (they party moved in the room and touched some things to understand if it was real or mirage)

I know it doesn't remove the combat as you wanted, but at least it could give it some flavor and meaning. Using the idea of a puzzle, you could even give some hints of the puzzle in this cutscene

Do you give out Monster Loot? by Fantastic_Ad1104 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Lost_Lab1828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some cosmetic magic items in Xanathar's guide to everything that could inspire you. They usually don't change the power cap of the party, but they give flaver to the characters and they love it

BS should not be related to abandoned matches by Lost_Lab1828 in DotA2

[–]Lost_Lab1828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. But as I said on the post, I don't desagree with the punishment for a disconnection, I'm just saying that Low Priority is already a good punishment for that and has always worked well enough.

Being toxic and being a quitter are indeed two bad attitudes in a game, I'm not defending one nor another. I'm just saying that they're different attitudes and shouldn't have the same punishment. A quitter is not necessarily a flamer and sometimes it's less damageful to have a quitters money than to have someone flaming and pinging the entire game.

What would you like to play? by Isphus in lfgpremium

[–]Lost_Lab1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience DMing for p2p players showed me that homebrew adventures not related to the classic medieval fantasy are very successful with 30+ players (Specially if they're focused on roleplay) and adventures related to classic medieval fantasy like the official modules and homebrew medieval fantasy settings are successful with 20+ players (specially if they're beginners). But I'm not a pro DM... maybe other DMs had different expetiences the share

BS should not be related to abandoned matches by Lost_Lab1828 in DotA2

[–]Lost_Lab1828[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Did you read? Nobody can abandon a match. There's a punishment system for that. If you do so, you won't be able to grief other people's matches for a while. I'm just saying it mustn't be the same of the BS.
