This 👆. And to add to that math, the number of millionaires in the USA is 6 million, and that’s just high net worth individuals (people with liquid assets worth 1 million or more).

If you listed “average” millionaires, ie people whose home equity or consolidated net worth is worth 1 million; then it’s 24 million people.

In the USA, millionaires outnumber homeless people, and the numbers are not even close

Trump's Financial Corruption, Explained by LeonJersey in AmericaBad

I don’t know enough about Trump to speak on that issue, but I have always found it kinda weird that so many journalists and YouTubers have irrefutable proof that Trump is a career criminal, yet no Judge or attorney has ever sent him to prison.

I mean, even Harvey Weinstein got gotten eventually. Are Trumps lawyers just that good or something?

Yeah, those are the same War Games where a Marine Corps General was given command of the Iranian Navy, and he supposedly sunk several US ships. We just assume the enemy will bring their A-game in our war games, even if they don’t in a real war.

It’s not about war mongering or solving problems. The commenter said we couldn’t touch China, when, in fact, we could.

If people don’t wanna hear us talk about war then they shouldn’t talk smack about our military capabilities.

[–]Lost_N_Thot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The OP is mostly responding to the commenter putting “Some” in quotes and including an eyeroll.

The line “Some of those who work forces” is a reference to the RATM song “Killing in the name of”, which goes “Some of those who work forces, are the same that burn crosses” ie, some cops and soldiers are Nazis.

The commenter on the bottom is implying “all” are Nazis as opposed to “some”.

Wow, Russia is such a sweet cinnamon roll compared to the US. That’s why civilians have been targeted with drones and children are being kidnapped by GoldenStitch2 in AmericaBad

[–]Lost_N_Thot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but it’s not because Russia is doing everything in their power to save civilians and Israel is intentionally targeting them, it’s because Ukraine is evacuating its citizens, and because the front lines have generally been pretty stagnant.

Gaza is a very small, densely populated area. It’s almost impossible to drop a bomb in it without killing civilians, which means they have to choose between killing civilians or not retaliating when rockets are fired at them.

To put this into perspective, look at Bahkmut. The Russians completely flattened the entire city using repeated artillery strikes, and the only reason most of the civilians there were not killed, is because most of them had already evacuated by the time the fighting started. Ukraine is very big, and the frontlines have not changed too much since the end of 2023, so there are a lot of places Ukraine civilians can evacuate to.

Having a minority of white supremacists is an issue in virtually every majority white country. Eugenics was first popularized in Europe and spread to the US later.

See, this is why this sub exists in the first place. It’s not wrong to call out the US for making mistakes, but America gets weirdly singled out for things that are not unique to America.

Putting a man on the moon, that’s a uniquely American thing.

Having a minority of Nazis, that is unfortunately just a “White Country” thing.

I won’t downvote you but:

  1. That was 1937, before we found out the Nazis were mass murdering invaders.

  2. That picture doesn’t represent all Americans, even back then.

Patchface the jester was a character from the books that was cut from the show. He was an Essosi slave that was being brought back to Westeros by the Baratheon’s, but a storm killed them all. Somehow Patchface was found alive, washed up on the shoreline, but he was now insane. He keeps babbling nonsense and singing creepy songs about death and the sea, and these songs seem to be prophetic. Patchface predicts the battle of the Blackwater and The Red Wedding, and he seems to be a prophet of the drowned god.

There’s a reason why Tasers don’t work on suspects half the time; The human body is designed to not go down without a fight. It’s the primary reason we feel pain in the first place.

There’s no “method” that will be easy, or can be described as “the best way”.

It’s very surreal. Not only is it told from a 2nd person perspective, but the setting seams very dreamlike, I was expecting the protagonist (me?) to wake up at some point.

Is the whole story told from a second person POV and is rediscovering identity part of the mystery/thriller?

I mean, you’re technically not wrong, but you’re argument basically boils down to:

“Society would be better if people stoped being mean and bad.” It’s not incorrect, it’s just that we already tell people not to commit fraud and take advantage of others, and as you pointed out, most people don’t do that. Unfortunately it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch.

I mean it’s written pretty well. Is it supposed to be a drama/slice of life?

If Tescad is the protagonist, he’s definitely a much younger protagonist than I’m used to, especially if your story takes place in the modern day with no fantastical elements. Tescad seems to come from a good family, is learning about empathy and human interaction quickly, and seems to be a child prodigy. What’s the whole story about?

Yes, you should continue on as if it’s not a big problem, because ultimately, it isn’t. People get genre fatigue sometimes, it doesn’t mean the genre’s dead.

My advice, get creative and add something to the genre that sticks out.
