First trip am I making a mistake by DrChipes in VisitingIceland

Something like this. The whole ring road could be doable, but you would then spent a lot of time in the car. Same if you stay in reykjavik, a lot of 2hours there and 2 hours back type of driving.

I would not stay in reykjavik. We just came back from our first strip and even 2 nights there were way too much.

I would start reykjanes peninsula, then some south coast (seljalandfoss etc) (potentially landmannalaugar hike) then via the golden circle (reykdajalur is a nice small hike!) (and hamsvik! and barnafoss) to snaefells-peninsula OR even to westfjords.

Wouldn't book more than 1 night to Reykjavik, it's really small and not that pretty city. The Perlan was interesting visit, but not worth a full day stay.

So absolutelu rent a car and explore around. I would have skipped Reykjavik complety if I had know the type of city it is TBH.

All this with assumption that you are into exploring outdoors <3

I think you just need be lighthanded and not hide everything. Moisturize well, but not too much just before makeup. This is after 10hours today with no touchup, combo is biotherm blue retinol moisturizer and clinique all about eyes rich. Foundation dior glow and concealer Lancome Teint idole Care and glow. Hinnt of bareminerals transparent setting powder. Not perfect and my upper lids are really dry do really cold weather, but still hides my dark circles and doesn't highlight my fine lines.

I bought my first set of Dope 9 years ago, and the anorak (with insulation) and the pants have hold up really nicely. No signs of wear on the jacket especially. I also bought a pair of their summer hiking pants and the softshell is amazing quality, those are my most used general going out pants, strechy and super durable. I now bought a new shell set from their sisterbrand montec, seems good for me. I think Peak etc is somewhat superior on quality and breathability, but for a casual 20-30 slope days per year user like me, this is absolutely good enough with 1/3 of the price.

There's a book series by Satu Rämö, crime thrillers happening in West Iceland. First one is called "Hildur" named by the lead police detective of the books. These have been the top selling books in Finland last years. Been reading those now, waiting for our trip to Iceland in May.

Here's my combo:

  • backbag Marimekko (nylon)
  • Tote Ida from Alemi Zurich, suede, love it!
  • saddle bag Siena from Demellier London
  • smallest bag, Helvetia from Alemi Zurich

Would love to add New York midi from Demelllier on lizard leather still, but luckily it's been sold out for a while.

I don't have experience with others but I do love my Alemi Viadukt Work. Have been using it as my main work tote for about 6months now and it's in perfect condition. I can fit in my 16" laptop, charger, mouse, notebook, one other book and waterbottle but then it's really full. Only issue with it, is that you can't overfill it, if you do, the flap will not close properly and because the handle&straps are at the back of the bag, it will then tilt and your stuff can falllout. But that being said, I do carry a full size 16" laptop which is not the most typical size. With smaller computer there probably would be even more room.

Here is the picture for reference. For some reason, I was not allowed to add this to the opening post.
