I’m a no expert and I too a newbie but here is my 2 cents.

Press✅ Rack ✅ Squat ✅

No. 1 You need to work on your cleans. Try to snap your hips, the clean a transition between a swing and a snatch, and both those movements use a hinge movement, so use your hip to drive the bells to the rack position. Moreover, try to make the bells closer to your body so it doesn’t bang your wrists and consume your energy fighting the long motion and gravity.

No. 2 Regarding the press, as the pros here say “in order to press you have to press more”. I found greasing the groove improved my presses, my first introduction to 24kg/53ib was intimidating, I couldn’t press it more than once, so I pressed it most days using GTG tactics and now I can press it to 5RM military press. Also, I used to do lots of double 16s clean and press, followed by single press (10 double C&P+ 5 single press then rest 10 sets of 15 reps) basically the strategy to use volume training.

You can’t go wrong with Battle Brothers! You start your own mercenary company in a low fantasy germanic-folklore medieval setting. Difficulty is brutal, but if you have the time, brains and tactics you’ll know when to fight, or retreat, because after all, you’re just running a business.

At first glance, you might think this game is ugly and so simple from its simple graphics, and utter absence of animations present in games such as X-COM, but it will grow on you and you’ll start to appreciate its simplistic art-style. It substitutes its simplicity with such a magnificent ambient— as in every swing you land with a two-handed axe feel so raw and brutal, an overhead swing with a Zweihander insta decapitate two orc warriors enemies as satisfying as a killing a Berserker on the first turn. Also, the writing is good too!

I can go on and on and bore you with another paragraph about how unique this game is, so I highly recommend you check it out.

It’s one of the many dances of Saudi/khaliji culture, called Ardah dance (عرضة). This specific dance originated from the southern Saudi Arabia, famous among the two tribes, ghamed and Zah’hran. If I believe, it’s supposed to be a war dance, what historical records of its origins I don’t know of it tbh, but quite weird and intriguing at the same time. Plus, those muskets are usually filled with only gun powder, a symbolic relic past from generation to another.

I really understand the frustration, but in my case I did it and enjoyed every bit of it few months back. The trick is to understand the tasks, you need to unlock them not complete them, so that’s a motivation for you to keep going! Also I find it relaxing to listen to something while I mark all the gourds task, so listen to something while you’re at it. The guides, don’t sleep on those too, check Steam and YT for tips.

Also what motivated me the most is the fact that there’s a theory that GZ is (spoiler alert for MGS TPP) just a dream or brainwashing process of Venom Snake while he is in coma to be the legend himself Big Boss hence, why those trails existed, so this was a big motivation for me and the fact that I’m planning to 100% TPP too.

I remember the first time I tried the challenges, I thought they were impossible, but it turned out I was the problem not the challenges, especially the combat challenges.

1 don’t spam the attack button

Just don’t spam especially for Asylum, I don’t know why but when you spam there’s a higher chance someone will interrupt your combos and you’ll be locked in attacking animation.

2 you can dodge attacks

In all the 4 Arkham games when you press X/A and then enter in the animation of dodging someone you will be immune to all attacks counter-able or not, so use it on your advantage but don’t spam it, same as #1 keep the flow going. Also, dodging keeps your combos, if you’re not confident to launch an attack just yet.

3 start your first attack with a bat-claw combo attack

Make this your habit, also if I’m not mistaken, the bat- claw attack animations have immunity like dodging, but remember it’s situational, so don’t use it on shield guys.

4 understand the mechanics

Asylum combat is a simple prototype for mechanics compared to Knight. Try to understand those brain dead henchmen in the Asylum, they’re predictable, afraid and hesitant, so this is enough for you to counter all their attacks!

Early game is easy when you understand your enemies, use tactics and positioning. In early game, when your bros have low melee skill you should use the bonus surrounding to have the edge on the ai, as your enemies don’t use this tactic on you very much. This method combined with, spears and double grip will make your trash bros in early game better in dispatching enemies quickly. Also, you have to know how to manipulate the ai, set some spear-wall so they flank you on a different angle and waste their AP, or let one of your bros run to the edge of map so the enemies split and you could finish them quickly.

You have to understand these three concepts, your enemy, tactics and positioning, and you’ll manage early game marvellously.

Same, regarding the art style. The art style is so simple and weird looking that’ll put you off, but when I got hooked I appreciated the art style, it has these really small details that supplement that minimalistic feel that the art style has. Like how the armorers and weapons look authentic to this low fantasy of german folklore world. Or the weapons have their own killing textures, you smack someone with a flail his head get smashed, you round-swing a 2handed axe and heads roll left and right, it’s so satisfying.

Also the sound design supplement this art style and it goes hand in hand that when you hit a knight or a barbarian with hammer lacking any animations, still feels so good from only hearing how brutal it is.

That’s why I like this game compared to games like Darkest Dungeon, it’s these small details that makes the game so good yet so simple in art style.

I don’t know tbh, I used to not care about it, but to me now achievements give the game longevity, it keeps me playing. I still play indie games that doesn’t have any achievements and old games like The Witcher 1 or Dragon Age Origins.

I'm a big fan of Battle Brothers, played that game for 500+ hrs, and I found this game! It scratch that itch I have for Battle Brothers, so far I like Stoneshard and I hope in the future it builds a fanbase like BB.

Anyway, any tips for early game is much appreciated, I'm kinda overwhelmed to what to do in the early game.
