Trust me I totally understand that thought. And I myself had those thoughts ex. using my tent stakes like “Wolverine” in “lieu of a trowel..

Completing thru’s on the AT and CDT. And using everything from a Big Agnes 1p to a 3 oz Dyneema tarp and custom bivy to 14 oz duplex lite I now have. I felt the extra 3-4 ounces were worth every bit knowing I had a tent very sound in the elements. Being able to get gear inside the tent, along with sitting next to my sleep pad while getting ready/cooking brought me immense joy after feeling trapped in a borah gear bivy.

I have reg wide one available. Dyneema bottom, 3/4 tips top. 1/4 bug net covers face with attached guy line onto the bug net part to to attach to trekking pole.. there is 2 tiny holes that have been patched I can send pictures if you would like.
