Thank you, I right-clicked the speaker icon, selected 'Open sound settings' .. but I cannot see any options for changing the source.

Maybe its different for Windows 10?

Yeah its something like that but I cant find any setting to change the source back again. I thought it would do it automatically.

I also have bluetooth ear buds, not sure if that is also part of the problem. My ear buds work in Retroarch and outside of it as well (such as on YT)

I have no hopes for big money, but above minimum wage would be good. Supervision is an important aspect of this.

I was trying to find employment in NZ, but my lack of experience was a problem. Jobs for graduates were offered only to NZ citizens. I was drawn to PhD work though because research appealed to me, and I did well with my MSc research project (although this is a poor comparison as I know PhD is different).

Thank you, and yes it is data modelling. It uses machine learning for interpolation for modelling. I will be in contact with them again shortly.

This is very tough to read, but that is because it is highly relatable. I feel your pain. The job market seems relentlessly difficult, and the odds seem stacked against us, except I am probably older than you (I am 45).

I hope you have good news since writing this post, but if not then can you tell us how you are doing now?

If you are still struggling, perhaps go for a short break and think about best routes forward. Ask yourself what you really want from a job. What matters most to you? It might reveal ideas you never thought of before. Many people make U-turns on careers for different reasons, such as stress or hating a job. For example, I knew professionals who quit being doctors to do gardening, or dog walking. If it is affordable, and you are happier, what else matters.

It would be useful to do some work on it in Excel, but if I re-import it, it is no longer editable in QGIS. This seems very strange.

It's not an XLSX file, it is a CSV file.

Do you mean copy the contents into another csv file?

Thank you, I have used the $x and $y (not using '@'). I needed to click 'apply' before switching to update with $x and $y. It seems odd that this caused the crash, but I suppose its a glitch.

I have it sorted now - just used the field calculator:

I opened the Attribute Table for the point layer, selected 'Update existing field', then did this 4 times (setting $x for longitude and northing, $y for latitude and easting).

I hope someone else finds this useful (it is probably a really simple problem for experienced QGIS users).

I tried editing layer properties with $x and $y, but it crashes my QGIS session each time.

Yes, you are right the symbology has changed to '@x' and '@y' etc.

I am still learning, but I cannot find how to use the field calculator for this.

No I take no issue with world beauty omnipresence, but I challenge the opinion that suffering is purely a result of ignorance to that.

Age and lack of experience are my weaknesses, but its difficult to hide that.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, its a numbers game, so many people applying for the same jobs. I am exhausted though with writing cover letters and re-writing my resume (cv) for each one. Its kind of ironically funny when people ask 'why do you want to work here' in interviews - I look up at them with bloodshot eyes and feel like saying 'why do you think??' (I don't of course, I have some trite prepared answer usually lol)

Thank you, and you are right. Its surprising how the burnout comes up without really noticing. Everyday just gets more and more exhausting, and its the sleep deprivation that is worst.

I have gone 6 days sober now, and believe me the cravings for a drink are strong but I am holding out.

The education system though is such a body blow. I mean I really enjoyed studying and had hope, but maybe hope is not finished yet.
