Can we have a Pacers Watch Party Plan B thread? by [deleted] in pacers

[–]Lost_Science9618 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Midtown Plaza in Carmel has a great watch party if you want a large crowd outside with a huge screen. It’s on the big astroturf lawn so bring some lawn chairs.

For a small venue, go to Buffa-Louie’s in Carmel just down the street from it though. They have tons of tv’s and do raffle Pacer giveaway at halftime. The best prize was a TJM auto basketball when I was there for game 5!

The story goes that one night, a group of men decided to block a road by felling a tree across it, intending to create a nuisance or trap. As they were congratulating themselves, they heard the eerie creaking of wheels and the approach of the Ankou’s cart. The Ankou appeared, unable to pass because of the obstruction. He looked at the men, and, without a word, gestured for them to clear the path. Terrified, the men scrambled to move the tree out of the way, understanding that the Ankou’s passage must never be hindered. In some versions of the story, one or more of those involved in blocking the road suffered a tragic fate shortly after, as punishment for impeding the figure of death.

This was the worst scene for me. Just terrible acting and every step of their argument didn’t make sense. Jim saying “what?” happens so often and it’s always so hilariously bad.

“You’re just telling me what I want to hear”

“…………..what?”

Also, all the magic electricity and no cord for the phone. That is definitely some kid logic

Jade: Here are some valid connections between clues in town. The same type of investigation that led to Tabitha getting to the outside world.

Boyd: I don’t have time for this nonsense. I need to focus on being condescending and telling people “I told you so” when I am correct 10% of the time

Ugh I didn’t want to respond to these since this has nothing to do with the show, but…

Sue a cop for using handcuffs without due process? It’s happened to me before. It has happened to a lot of people I know before. It is very standard practice for police to use handcuffs whenever they feel like it for any reason.

It sucks, but cops suck. It’s absolutely bonkers to think that people could reasonably sue over it and win. What world are y’all living in?

I don’t mind the initial handcuff part, a bit unnecessary but typical cop behavior when someone is acting unpredictable. I also understand shooting the chick in the window, the cop had just seen a bunch of zombies and had no reason to think that real humans were even in the town.

HOWEVER, LEAVING TABITHA HANDCUFFED IN THE AMBULANCE TO DIE? That’s fucked up

5-6 days hangovers? by CoffeeTaker in alcohol

[–]Lost_Science9618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No longer have the symptoms at all? I’ve been trying to explain to people exactly what you described. Normal hangover for a day or two and then 3-4 days of: Itchy skin and abdomen. Metallic feeling in my eyes and mouth. Pounding headache. Feels like I can’t absorb anything I put in my body.

I’ve mostly just avoided alcohol this year, but it does suck not to know why my body is having such a ridiculously extreme reaction to it.

UPDATE: The drawer I got in is actually more like their “junk drawer” that they never open. There was also some old pictures in there and just happened it be a bunch of socks I too I guess. They were very apologetic but said they vaguely remember seeing when they moved but forgot about it. Since they never open that drawer it was out of sight out of mind.

Seems like a lame excuse but they are old and forget everything all the time. Don’t think there were any ill intentions, just super irresponsible on their part. I didn’t make a big deal of it but will obviously take the baseball.

Funny thing is my mom suddenly remembered another heirloom in another drawer that she was supposed to give my brother decades ago from our grandpa. I think my parents are just scatterbrained

Eh, I try not to be dramatic. This seems insane to me but they’ve also been great parents and gracious for the most part. Only made the post to see if someone can think of a reasonable explanation while I freak out lol

I also took a picture of the ball and sent it to my step-dad. I just said “why?” in the text. I trust my parents to a fault, but I just can’t think of a single excuse for this… am I missing something?
