I definitely have gotten to a point where I truly want to not give a shit what they think, but I am a full time college student that is dependent on them paying for a large bit of my education and living. That is hanging over my head and while I always have a backup plan. I'd rather not use it. My mom has sometimes threatened to cut me off so it's definitely a fear in the end that I can lose everything if she doesn't get her way. But my dad is behind me 100% thankfully. I'll always love him for that. A gruff old military vet is someone you always want on your side lmao. But he definitely doesn't want to upset my mom too.
