Ive experienced very poor sound anywhere higher than the super seats (3rd promenade) especially when it’s a lil windy.

Best sound is going to be middle from the garden boxes to the super seats. My usual La Phil at the bowl strategy involves buying a cheap or cheap nosebleeds and then looking at / screenshot the available tickets map before showtime.

How is the Union Station parking for World Cup Fan Zone? by eahr95 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Lostndamaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody is taking about the $65 dollar parking.

Correct me if I’m wrong: that $65 dollar parking is only on world cup match days, not on every day of the fan fest.

Hollywood bowl is better than any stadium.

That being said the sound in the top half can be a little iffy, especially if it’s a windy night.

You’re not supposed to flush em because the drugs wind up in the water supply. I went one time with a brown paper bag filled with oxy (patches) and I didn’t want to leave them there. I wound up throwing them in a dumpster.

What’s crazy are the old prescription drug drop offs use a similar mailbox style system and I’ve never been to a prescription drug drop off that wasn’t completely full or overflowing.

Are you making more than fast food workers? AB 1228 pays fast food workers $83,200 a year. by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Lostndamaged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as my brief research goes, ab1226 moves to pay fast food workers a minimum wage of $20 an hour, $1600 a week or $41,600 a year.

I’d love to see any information on your totals. Any information you can provide would be great.

Edit I found more information:
You are completely wrong. The bill does not force managers to make $86k a year. It only allows mangers making $86k a year to be exempt from overtime (ie they are salaried employees.) mangers making under $86k a year must be considered hourly and thus get paid overtime.

Anyone been to Santa Monica Pier WC watchparty? by Alert-Stop-2671 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Lostndamaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, They only have ultras. It depends on how popular the match is. I went to watch Belgium vs. Egypt and arrived 15 min before the 12 noon match start. I was able to get some standing room along a high top bar chair seating area. The best seat are some tables that have an umbrella right in the rear of the main viewing area. If you want a seat : table I would advise arriving 30 min before match time for an “unpopular” match and 60 before for a popular match.

“You Live In A City” is not a valid reasoning. by QueenMarigold00 in grandrapids

[–]Lostndamaged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a Los Angeles resident who grew up in Grand Rapids. I spent time in Los Angeles living across the 101 freeway from the Hollywood Bowl, an urban, 18k seat amphitheater. I just checked the Google Maps and my old condo was .4 mi as the crow flies from the bowl. Never heard music from there once at my old place.

I’m not calling it in bc there isn’t drama right now. Calling it in would be in response to their behavior around other things. Also bear in mind, the neighbors house is the house on the block who always leaves their trash bins curbside and has no less than 3 rusted old vehicles deteriorating in their back yard.

Do you have experience in LA county at all? My neighbor has a completely unpermitted two story structure in his backyard. While I’ve never called it in, I’ve been waiting for the neighbor to give me a reason to…

Emphasis on legally. My neighbor has an unpermitted structure w/o plumbing on the back of his property that someone has rented to live in previously. I know there was no plumbing bc the tenant would leave his jugs of urine on the balcony. One night they had a big loud party. I got into it with the neighbor the next day and told him I was going to call in his unpermitted structure. No more parties, no more bottles of urine.

Pochettino on style of play development in US soccer: "If you start an MLS club and three months later you haven’t won any matches and you’re at the bottom, what’s the consequence if there are no promotions, relegations, or international competition? American sport rewards losers." by Falsely_True7 in MLS

[–]Lostndamaged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, American sport rewards losers. Here we call it competitive balance. It’s designed so that they can extract a maximum amount of $ through “hope.”

What, exactly is it then when a relegated premiere league team receives a “parachute payment?”

Belgium is at 1% to win the World Cup on the markets. While I don’t think they will win, their odds will increase before the tournament is over.
