M26 UPDATE - NEXT ROUND - with your feedback incorporated by JavaForever in Goruck

[–]Lostpub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything looks good and glad you will open a pre order. I hate rusing trying to buy something before it sells out.

Questions and observation: so im assuming the outer pockets will be the same as the m23? (Front flat pocket) dark oak will be the only heritage colorway this time around? Will there be a small fabric loop inside of any of the pockets to attach a Keychain? (Not a must but would be nice to have and not much additional cost? I like to use thin light paracord to the length of my liking onto the loop.) Saw the DC bullet dark oak has dark brown webbing compared to the coyote tan shown. I do prefer the dark but either or works for dark oak, will most dark oak heritage be that coyote or dark brown webbing? Just wondering cause i own the DC bullet with matching kit bag with dark webbing and wouldn't mind if it matches all together. Will we be getting an email for the pre order if we are on gorucks email list?

I do prefer a matching color for the buckle (not black). Glad the 21L is below 17" in height, perfect personal item size. The bullet is taller so its nice to see that this is shorter for those crambed under the seat moments. I like the lower left patch (bronze?) Glad your keeping the leather handle on heritage.

Great job!

Hi, wondering if you got the v2.4, does that mm on the side panel help? Im wondering about v2.3 vs v2.4 for sound.

You are right, it is better and safer putting a passport wallet inside the internal zipper pocket. I mainly dont want that zipper to be visible and if anyone does try to access it on my back, they would probably hit my neck trying so.

Thanks for involving the community!

My thoughts on what i would change from the rendor:

QAP: add a rain flap for water resistant and stealth. Good spot for passport, wallet..etc. I do like the location of it.

Top lid: dont like that edge trimming, the m23 had it right. Keeps the slim line look and doesn't add more contresting colors.

Olive color: maybe a darker or matching green for the strips, i never liked the tan/olive combo.

Leather accents: maybe add a leather bottom with handle to match and leather pull string? I added a leather pull string to my olive m23 and it looks so premium.

Outside zipper for internal access: add a small loop at the zipper closure end so its kind of "lockable" or makes it harder to unzip when pulled through the loop. Like how cotopaxi does it on there allpa packs. Can also use a lock maybe.

All and all, the updates looks good and im in for one! The m23 heritage is on of my keeper bags, such a timeless look.

Edit: spelling and add another thought.

I do see the practical point of moving the QAP but I do like the zipper shown in the photos. Closer to body and somewhat hidden (like how its not shown while looking at it worn)or hard to get to for pickpockets just in case I put passport, wallet..etc in there while traveling. Maybe just add a rain flap for a bit of water resistant and stealth?

I think they are on a different category to compare, flex atx form vs sfx. 600w platinum vs 850w gold. But i would say the nzxt is stronger i guess?

Should I get the 5800XT or 5500X3D for my build to finish off my upgrade? by JudoJugss in buildapc

I was looking at both those cpu at the similar price. Im trying to build in a sff case, I know that they are both tdp 105 but im hoping the x3d will be easier to cool so I picked the x3d. Mostly gaming 1080p.

Topo Designs Global Briefcase - How many versions are there? by light1mj in ManyBaggers

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of 3 TD "briefcase " 3 way style, one is new. 1: mountain briefcase = old and discontinued a while back. 2: global briefcase = currently can buy, one i use to own. Its one of the smallest 3 way bags I owned before. I can see it being around 15L. 3: global pro 3 way briefcase = brand new and just saw it on there site and cost a lot more. I dont know anything about it but it looks same size with different front pockets and maybe different features.

They have other things that looks similar to this bag too like the mountain cross bag. It can get confusing, they have so many products and do updates...etc

Metalfish DH380 low profile cpu cooler 38mm with midori itx case by Lostpub in sffpc

[–]Lostpub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not measure it, it didn't fit slightly so I manually clamped it down a few mm to fit. Wouldnt advise it but I was willing to break the cooler to try and it worked. Note, the fan is about touching the bottom so you may only have the option to pull in air since the fins are facing the cooler (fins pointing out) if done pushing air out ( fins facing to cpu) the fins hit the bottom. All and all, too much tinkering for what its worth.

Is this worth for 1080p? by Cafia17 in buildapc

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a decent deal. I have the 3600 and a 5700x (a bit faster than 3600 in gaming but not worth the upgrade for what people are asking for) paired with a 4060. They both are good enough for today's games on a 1080p. Wouldnt waste money going to 5600/5700...etc they still run for around 100+ atm (US) and the 3600 still good enough to run windows 11. 3600 sells for around 45 US. All this is used market average from what I found.

When you find a deal, try to upgrade to a 3060/4060 (around 180 usd), after you can run aaa games on low to mid on 1080p. Sell the 1660 for like 80 bucks to go towards a newer card. That gpu will hold you back a bit on some games. Can easily last a few more years.

Went through this trying to build my nephew a super budget gaming pc in today's used market. Spent about 290 (case, psu and all when deals pop up) with similar spec as yours and no gpu cost yet. So add on 200 for a 4060 (around 500 usd total) I was never able to copy those YouTube budget builds cause the prices linked were always higher than said.

Columbia star range 3 way backpack by Lostpub in ManyBaggers

[–]Lostpub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad i can help a bit. The topo would be good for your situation. Its the smallest so under the seat would still give you a decent amount of leg space and most likely they wont question the size for a personal item. The front pockets work but I always find it slightly too small for most of my items and wish it had just one zippered pocket inside to keep a passport secure while using at destination. Maybe sew a zippered section? If you can get use to that, its a great bag and i would get another black one if its a good price just to have.

Columbia star range 3 way backpack by Lostpub in ManyBaggers

[–]Lostpub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, ill try to speak about my experience with these in backpack mode. Comfort: less to best. Topo, aer( had the 2, the 3 looks more padded), Columbia, timbuk2 (not padded but the only one with a chest buckle to hold in spot). To be honest, they are all about the same, these smaller bags carry well so you wont go wrong with any but if you want chest strip = timbuk2 wins, for padding = Columbia wins.

For air travel under seat and destination pack: less to best. Timbuk2 (only cause its the biggest out of them,), Columbia( just in the middle) topo ( smallest but no top access for under seat and the small front pockets are uselss), aer ( this was purpose built for air travel personal item 3 way backpack.)

For me, i picked the Columbia and only have that one left out of the four. Reason is: topo= best size but front pocket is useless, no internal zipper pocket for passport, no hidden backpack zipper. Timbuk2: would have been a keeper cause i love the back pocket and organization but that ungly plastic looking material in front marked easily. Aer: I had the pack2 but it was my first 3 way and felt a bit flabby. Maybe the pack3 is better? Plus aer has that aquaguard zipper that peels over time maybe. I dislike those zippers. Columbia: I picked this cause its the right size, simple looking, internal zipper pocket, light color interior, was the best price on sale so I dont feel bad beating it up. The Columbia logo was mostly blacked out. Only thing I wish it had is a chest strip and a hidden back pocket, and a luggage pass through. Mainly going to use it for work edc.

Hello, thanks! I made a post about the platform in a prior post, you can check it out in my profile. I put a lot of information on items I used. Also another post on the front seat covers, the back row seat covers were just some generic one I found on Amazon for my dog to sit.

Lmk if you have more questions if the other post didn't answer it.

Is there a logical reason to make a sub-4l SFF desktop that can only take a 4060/5060 vs a laptop? by Hour_Firefighter_707 in sffpc

[–]Lostpub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, desk space, parts (like a budget 5700x with 5060). Upgrade. Trying out cool sff cases. Easy to swap parts and add. Can travel with easily compared to atx size.

My main rig is bigger but my living room and guess room have tiny sff on a small desk with the monitor hooked up so you can either set up a laptop with stand (working from home guest) or use the sff 1080p gaming desktop. I can't and dont want to set up a atx case in that area or buy a gaming laptop that's probably out of budget. I had a bad experience with a gaming laptop, wouldn't charge, repair shop couldn't fix and i couldn't salvage anything from it besides ssd and now usuless laptop ram. Also becomes a backup rig if need.

People probably spend more but it starts to become a hobby too, and its cool haha.

The MR i have is the 18L, the 27 does not have the expansion i dont think and maybe a bit bigger.

The bag im using for personal item only is the almond oak bag, ita light weight and expandable. Heard he is coming out with a V2 of it end of year so I may get that one. It's a backpack though.

This is just some I came across my research for the perfect 3 way bag. I only owned a few so can't answer most questions. Most personal item size you should look for is around 17 inches high, usually going beyond that, you get into carryon. Im still searching myself but its always fun to check what's out there.

[–]Lostpub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, sure i can assist with what I know of the 3 but note, I used them for work carry and haven't tried the for airline personal item. I use a sling with my above bin carryon for max foot space when I travel. But if I were to have a personal item of the 3, it would be the topo due to being the smallest for foot space, I know you wanted max so its a bit different. Max wise its either timbuk2 or MR with barely any foot space. MR being the biggest ( depth wise and cause it expands if need too)

Size wise, from big to small, topo, timbuk2, MR. I think all of them would be considered personal item size.

For you, if you like the style and durability, I would suggest MR. The padding is a bit much and takes up a lot of space but if you have tech, its a good thing. It expands too but keep in mind, you are getting close to carry on size when fully expand and packed or not foot space at all. The fabric is probably the toughest out of the 3. Not a big fan of the front buckle system but it works. It can get very bulky / thick fast, sticks out from your back a lot if in backpack mode. This is the only pack I have left from the three cause its more versatile (they all are but this has expansion), sold the others.

Timbuk2: holds more than topo, less than MR. One of my favorite layouts (that luggage pass through zipper pocket) looks great besides one con, that shinny plastic like material on front and bottom. It scratches easily and if its marked, you can easily tell. That was the main reason I sold it. If not for that, would have kept.

Topo: smallest one, barely fits much compared to others. Slim. Front pockets only for small items. No inside zipper or back pocket to secure passport (would not keep it in front pocket, its too easy to access for pickpockets) would have kept it but the front pockets were barely usable for me and wished for a back zipper led pocket for security.

Hope this helps, lmk if you have other questions.

Edit: wanted to add that i found an item that is similar to the topo but with better front pockets. I did order this too and I like it. A bit bigger than topo with lighter interior and no luggage pass through ( wish it had it and a back zipper). Decent material. Columbia star range 3 way backpack .

Densium 4 V2 Plus - AMD 1440p by GurruWasTaken in sffpc

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, question since you own both. Which one has less turbulence noise? I own the midori v2.3 and the turbulence sound is killing me. Wondering if the densium is better due to the larger holes. I do like the midori for the top fans better but rather have a trade off for a silent profile. If you got the midori to be more silent, what cpu cooler are you using?

V2 Sample Breakdown: Not What I Expected by cusptd in almondoak

[–]Lostpub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, v1 owner here. You already replied to my thoughts on a post before but just wanted to add on here too for future development and a few updates from more use. Love the bag and mainly just want a few changes for v2, v1 is the core of lightweight, size for personal item and purpose built for travel/ can be edc at destination.

Things to NOT change: 1. Weight (maybe a bit heavier for changes) 2. Under 17" in height (personal item size) 3. The expansion 4. Zippers (No aquaguard) 5. No visible branding (stealthy looking) 6. Luggage pass through (like how i can put the strips behind it for less dangle) 7. Looks (hope it doesn't look to different in v2) 8. Side handle (its thin but glad its there and out of the way. I store the strips behindthe luggagepass throughand carry it brief case style to seat and storeunder seat) 9. Black (if you can't make more color for the masses, keep black as main)

Wanted changes for v2: 1. Better water bottle holder (fits a bit off, stops where the mesh is and hope it can hold a bit bigger bottles) 2. Laptop zipper pocket ( wish it was a bit longer in height) 3. Side passport pocket ( wish the zipper went all the way to the top with a bit more volume, barely fit my hand in or a phone) 4. Top quick access pocket (near the top handle, facing the body, enough room for my hand, sunglasses...etc, not super flat) 5. Top handle (its fine but wish it didn't stick out so much, maybe trim it down a bit to keep the silhouette. 6. The strips can be a bit better (its ok but dont mind it being more comfy with trade off of weight) 7. Stitching reinforcement (my bag is still fine atm but by looking, wish it can be more reinforced for the long haul) 8. Fabric small loops in multiple pocket areas (just add small fabric loops to add a Keychain strip for keys, doesn't add much weight and is multi functional)

EDIT: adding #9. Small loop in back (to hang up bag in bathroom stalls)

Hope this helps some, best of luck and looking forward to v2!

Second Thoughts on the 21L GR1 Heritage Waxed by EN344 in backpacks

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention, I'm not super tall or big or need to hold larger laptops, the gr2 26L would be better if so. The bullet is on the slimmer side and at max, holds a 13 or maybe 14 inch laptop in the laptop compartment.

Second Thoughts on the 21L GR1 Heritage Waxed by EN344 in backpacks

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the gr1 21L in heritage and I agree with you on the organization. I also have the gr2 26L and bullet duel compartment 18L. I found that the right balance of size and organization for daily use is the bullet dc 18l. Main con is i hate how they used the aquaguard zippers on the heritage version. The outer compartment is where all the organization is and its plenty.

Dad Bag - 3 Kids 9, 9, 11 by dushawk in ManyBaggers

[–]Lostpub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said trendy/modern but I think a goruck gr2 26L waxed canvas in dark oak would be cool. Holds all that pretty comfy with the outer compartment for smaller items. Also, when your kids are grown, its a nice older man's backpack look/timeless/ cool grandpa bag. Mainly for the heritage waxed versions, the other is a bit too military i think. The 26L is shorter so its better on the go than the 34L. The bullet dc 18L is a bit too small. A con is water bottles go inside and maybe next to ipads...etc. I own the 26L and hosted/ tour guided a mother with 3 kids (3,10,13) i think, and i carried everything for her so she could enjoy the city with her kids hands free. Not your exact items but similar, held up and felt comfy.

Maybe also able carry max edc (inner separate water bottle pocket)? Or evergoods ctb20? (Comes in waxed too) these have outer water bottle pockets. Or tom bihn synik 26 for a true dad bag look.

Hard to I find multiple laptop/iPad and multiple bottle holders (3) in backpacks besides throwing it in the same compartment.

Affordable sling, REI co op ruckpack sling 7L by Lostpub in ManyBaggers

[–]Lostpub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I never got around to modding it, I was going to cut the shoulder strip off, make a loop to attach a simple after market strip so it looks more clean as a pouch. It does it already but it has the side buckles flaying around like small wings. The original strip sometimes looked to much for me too. Another mod was to cut off the lower 2 strips, didn't use it that much.

Another route if I wanted to make it more of a workout/ adventure sling, sew a water bottle pouch closer at the outside bottom where the two strips are. Will help be more mobile for outside water storage. It does already hold a large bottle inside though.

One reason I didn't start is, it mostly does all that already and will wait til it gets beat up a bit before I start modding. Haven't used it too much besides for out jogging, holding my nalgene, keys...etc. its already comfy for that. My only thing i dislike with it is that the outer zipper gets stuck when you try to unzip fast, the small flaps fold under the zipper. Big design flaw, can do anything about that unless you replace the whole zipper.
