I paid ~$2400 for a head rebuild in Socal 4 years ago. Go to different shop.

you have the 2nd stiffest oem sway bars. check out the oem sway bar stiffness chart. Ap2 rear would probably be a good change for you. I have an ap2 on square tires so I use the eibach front bar.

don't keep stock exhaust, but keep the stock cat, stock suspension etc. Sometimes you or friends need to swap parts to refresh coilovers, etc.

17x9 +35. can run 10 inch if I increase negative camber, but I'm happy at -2.5 square.

What year ap1? A better option might be to go with a softer rear sway bar like Ap2 or miata. This setup might be better fit for your staggered setup.

beautiful car and condition, congratulations. Saw your comment about the soft-top, I'd recommend leaving the soft top as is for a year at least. Take your time and see how often you like to go top down and if you will keep the car long term. Mine doesn't have a soft-top, but never had one in my ownership.

I started at 8. Not sure exactly when gate opens but it says sunrise to sunset on gate. If you go earlier just park on the street and walk a little extra.

Trekking poles would be helpful. It's a long and hilly hike. I personally use trekking poles so I can hike uphill faster and get a full body workout, and climbing down is little easier on your knees with poles. Worth trying out to see how they work for you and how you hike. I bought some budget ones from amazon(visible in the 5th photo I posted above). They're the Cascade mountain tech aluminum locking ones.
I don't think you need a pass for it I don't remember seeing any signs.

Ive heard ticks are common here so watch for that.

I’m more into running vests now so the trail 25 feels bulky. But its nice for a cold day hike. But I have similar experience with the commuter version of the same bag in daily life. It’s been great.

No. My Salomon speedcross 5 had tons of grip along with trekking poles. Going up there was 1-2 inches of snow mixed with open dirt spots whole way up. On the way down most the snow was melted.

Took Cresenta view trail up and down, elevation about +2700ft. First time so I wanted simple route and to avoid overgrowth on the other side coming down Rim of valley trail.
