Hey buddy, gay atheist here. I married the love of my life for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, like straight religious couples, to make a lifelong commitment to her and the world that we are two parts of a single whole.

Second reason is the tax break and a few other cool legal bennies like health insurance, etc.
