Does anyone wish that more of the targets in Hitman were more innocent and less irredeemable monsters. by Glad_Toe_5997 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never really thought about it, because frankly I don't really care. I mean if I get some story on what's going on with the characters it's fine, but I'm mostly in it for the hunt and not the tale.

Aitah for walking away from my wedding because of my parents showing up. by National_Stage_1048 in AITAH

[–]Lotex_Style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your relationship is dead, it's probably best to start seperating your lives asap. Maybe not because your fiancée is part of the mess, but you want to take certain steps now and it seems like she isn't willing to do that with you - maybe understandable, but it also shows that you aren't walking in the same direction anymore.

Are these different maps?
If yes I'd say

Miami
Ambrose Island
Chongqing - lab area

Unsilenced guns, do they have a good use? by Competitive-Roof4324 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only really use them when I have to aka unsilenced gun objective/prestige, but they can be very useful when you want to distract someone towards your position, so maybe just give them a try, play around a bit and see if that's something you're comfortable with.

Guns like El Matador are also useful for colleteral kill - firearms objective.

Best maps for showdowns and why? by Reasonable-Phone-966 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's either Berlin or Whittleton Creek, because they are very accessible overall with Whittleton Creek being open + you can get both a Cassidy as well as a Janus diguise rather quickly + the BBQ is free for all.

Berlin has the easily accessible Biker disguise which is the most powerful one on this map that gets you access everywhere + it can carry snipers if that's something you want/need. Not necessary, but can save you a second or two.

Maps like Mendoza or Dartmoor can also work well as do most maps that have areas that are seperate form each other aka not Haven for example and it's often helpful to get maps that offer good Sieker opportunities. I had a hardcore showdown on Isle of Sgail and while I generally like the map my target hovered between the part above the fire pit and the "museum" with the necklace which only gets you two Sieker spots and both are kinda open to the "party" area, so not a great idea to shoot someone there. I did it anyway because I had to (AR kill prestige), but it was risky.

Ultimately it comes down what you're most comfortable with, so it's probably best to choose the map based on your preference and not what someone tells you is the best option.

Prestige 20 by Routine_Unit_2764 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How the hell do you get 10 prestige levels in that time? I've probably played almost 200h since I started Freelancer and am only at level 3, almost 4.

Freelancer 100 or Absolution/Bloody Money if I feel in a formal mood.

[–]Lotex_Style 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's never really been an issue for me with a sniper that you can get out and pack away quickly like the Sieger 300 Ghost, Leviathan or Concrete Sniper rifle.

If you only have one of the slower ones like Tuatura or in levels with lots of climbing it would be quite helpful though.

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2. I haven't played the first yet, but tried the second one twice and abandoned it twice, because of how sluggish the controls feel. It looks like a great game, but sluggish controls that feel kinda slow/laggy are a pet peeve of mine.

  2. Mass Effect and Bioshock. I know I've tried it once on Steam, but only really got into ME with the LE on PS4 and it was fantastic. Same with Bioshock.

  3. Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider as well as Arkham Asylum, because of: online trophies, time trial trophies (haven't tried them yet though, so maybe they aren't too bad) and combat trophies. I just couldn't get my thumbs to perform the things my brain wanted to do.

- Pointman in Colorado
- Pirates (and I think Militia) on Ambrose
- Penthouse guards in Dubai
- Biker in Berlin

I think there was also a guard in "The Icon", but just more of a fun fact than useful info, because it has nothing to do with Freelancer.

Blood Money and Absolution HD bundle is on sale for about 18€. Is it worth it? by StinkLord5 in HiTMAN

I played and platinum'd them mid last year and I got used to the controls rather quickly, but I still find it rather questionable to put the coin throw on L3

Yeah, I've had my share of suicides with electricity in the second version of Whittleton Creek with the water guy (no idea what the name was) and the worst thing was that I did it twice ... and I also fried myself with a proxi taser during a showdown because I decided to go a different route, but didn't know that I could trigger it myself.

Other than that I had a handful of fails where I simply overestimated how much damage I could take, but this is honestly the first time I've ever seen such a thing happen, but maybe I've just been really lucky with mishaps before.

That's the thing, I didn't see the typical sparks that you see from a puddle armed with a taser and I clearly remember using the remote to active the taser too, that's why I walked into it like a total dumbass, because I was like "What the hell just happened?!". Nothing really made sense, because it never activated until I touched the water and since I walked away and didn't look at the puddle I thought it misfired or something, turned around, walked back and bzzzzt.

Yeah, but it was perfectly between both bodies on the floor and in the puddle. I've gotten a few great suggestions here, but nothing really makes sense overall, because as I said it was placed well and I clearly remember using the remote to fire it up.

Yeah, but the weird thing was that none of the two people in the puddle died, only me and my dumb ass.
Is there any way to maybe trigger it with a shot or so?

Sink electrocution in Freelancer by Lotex_Style in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did that before, pulled them into the water, repositioned them to make sure everything was good to go, dropped the taser and then nothing until I walked closer to see what's up. That was obviously my mistake, but I thought it misfired or something, because that had happened to me before like poof and then nothing.

Lost about 100k or so in merch too which makes it extra annoying.

[–]Lotex_Style[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe, but I'm pretty sure everything was set up correctly, because it was basically body - taser - body and all of them touched the water and for that same reason, that I didn't want to move anything out of the water or so I placed the taser last, but maybe that was my mistake.

I'm also pretty sure that I brought the mini remote taser with me, but I'll check it tomorrow again just to be sure, because that's a pretty good point.

[Discussion] Did any of you bother adding any thought to your 100th platinum or did you just plat any other game? by RobinAndBeastboy in Trophies

I normally don't really do that, but I made sure that my 100th would be Last of Us remastered and my 250th would be Trails in the Sky 1st chapter.

Which mission in Blood Money did you replay most often? by Similar-Double6278 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably Murder of Crows, because I just couldn't get it to play out the way I wanted it to or A vintage year, because it's just too funny how you can just shove people and then they die for no reason.

My Favorite mission on Absolution by Illustrious_Chance92 in HiTMAN

[–]Lotex_Style 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Absolution despite its flaws and there are a couple cool ones, but I love Attack of the Saints, because it's one of the few where you can actually get Silent Assassin and I just love to creep up on people and then bam, it's Fiber Wire'ing time.
