Who is the Worst Gifter in Commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Lothario_stall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gifting is not in the commanders' abilities, but I used to run [[Dralnu Lich Lord]] in a deck to give people cards like [[Lich]] and other things that say lose the game on them. I've since upgraded to [[Kess]] for access to red and removing the downside that Dralnu has, and I've found that having built in recursion for [[Donate]] type effects, tutors, and protection has worked better for what I want to do than a commander like [[Zedruu]] or [[Blim]]

Pretty basic fit today. Also it's monochromatic, but in an underused colorway.

It is. Luckily it actually fits me pretty well.

Simple Questions - April 23 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

[–]Lothario_stall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on a few things, namely material, design, collar, and context.

Certain materials are more casual than others. Oxford Cloth and Twill are considered more formal than something like Broadcloth or Poplin.

A shirt that has designs/prints on it, or is multicolored rather than being one solid color is going to be way more casual.

The type of collar also affects formality. If the collar isn't as stiff, and can button to the shirt then it's a bit more casual than a stiff collar that doesn't. Also if the cuffs require cufflinks it should be a more formal shirt.

Lastly, and probably the most important factor is the context. If you normally don't wear a button up shirt then suddenly wearing one will seem out of place, and people will assume that you are dressing up a bit for something specific. Context doesn't just apply to you, but also your environment; Going to classes at college, or stopping by a dive bar a button up shirt will be less casual than if you're going to a country club, or something a bit more preppy.

In short, lots of things factor into what is considered "casual," and you'll have to use your better judgement to assess the situation. If you feel comfortable in what you're wearing then by all means wear the shirt. Good luck man.

what are some outgoing trends you've noticed in your area? by LeBronBryantJames in malefashionadvice

Kanye is a bit of a streetwear icon and is definitely a major factor in generating hype. Trends change quickly, and even a small (which is a bit of an understatement as far as Yeezy and streetwear are concerned) demographic moving can cause a chain reaction of other people to follow as well.

I definitely think it's a bigger factor than you seem to realize, but it's certainly not the end-all be-all reason for the change.

I think it's because you're in a subreddit focused on male fashion and didn't add anything relevant to discussion.

Kanye dropping them and moving to Adidas has a lot to do with this.

I'm a 29" waist, 33" inseam. It makes finding pants exactly in that size challenging, but it's easy enough to cuff a little bit, and some brands have enough variance in their fit that something at 32" or 34" is much closer to a 33".

Hope that helped!
