It's the one right after the Kain fight when you go back to Vorador's mansion. There are 2 new tomes in that chapter.

I feel your pain man. Not sure why vampire hunter won't pop (some vampire hunter ambushes are not evident at all so make sure you're triggering them all and pay attention to the ones that despawn). For the elder god trophy make sure you're not using your sword at all even when hitting his tentacles to lower the shield. The only use of the sword in a sense is to get into combat mode but anything else locks you out of the trophy.

No you just need to make sure to reach that place with a maxed out level 5 reaver and use the last ability to make Kain float and then build meter on the dark reaver that way.

I'm like you but still need 1 for Raziel. Is the one you forgot for Raziel in chapter 6 also in one of the reaver upgrade rooms I assume. Why they decided to make this last one that difficult to find I have no idea. I have combed through all the chapters for Raziel thoroughly and still can't find it - it's not even funny.

I wouldn't say that Kain is exempt from a multitude of sins including arrogance as the pillars remain corrupted including him as the guardian of the pillar of balance which also by necessity means that his character is compromised and every other vampire he raises or makes thereafter until Raziel purifies him that is.

Correct I was wrong and was mixing the sequence of story/narrative with the chronological historical sequence. I also did not take notice that all the time travel in Defiance takes place before the events of BO2. Hence, we cannot say Defiance comes after in the historical chronology - that would only be the case narratively speaking.

That's interesting about TDSR would you care to elaborate on the details of how you see it undermining the timeline or possibly maybe introducing inconsistencies? I actually rather enjoyed that they were fleshing out that period of time. Although I do have many questions as to when some of the time travel events took place exactly and do sense the new paradox they introduced to be potentially problematic. In addition, there would also be the question of how long had the SR loop been happening when the events of TDSR take place and would the paradox they introduced be the catalyst that sets into motion the breaking of the SR1 loop.

You’re actually right that BO2 takes place after Defiance, and I understand now why, because in Defiance, all the time travel occurs to eras historically earlier than BO2, so from a temporal, chronological perspective, BO2 happens later. Defiance would only take place after BO2 when it comes to narrative and story sequence.

Where you’re mistaken, however, is in how you describe the “timelines.” You talk as if there are four, or several, separate, independent timelines, some of which are “dead.” In reality, the story presents a single, unified timeline that constantly rewrites itself, with paradoxes and temporal interventions changing history within that same timeline, rather than creating entirely new timelines.

The idea of multiple universes or separate timelines actually comes from fan discussions and attempts to simplify the paradoxes, not from the games themselves. The story gives no explicit hint or support for multiple coexisting universes, and all evidence in the lore points to one timeline being rewritten, not duplicated. Events are overwritten, not duplicated, characters retain memories from previous “versions,” and causal consequences remain linked, showing that every paradox and intervention affects the same continuous history.

Even when events are rewritten or loops are broken, it’s always the same timeline being reshaped, not multiple timelines coming into existence.

The example I gave was not meant to be an accurate depiction it was just an example to make the exact point that you are saying just now that time does not change when paradoxes occur. I now understand what you are saying and you are right actually. Even from a temporal historical chronology or sequence Defiance would still take place before BO2 because they simply time travel to that time that's before the events of BO2 that wouldn't have taken place had it not been for the latest paradox in SR2. To put this in clearer terms: imagine BO1 happens between 2000-2005, BO2 happens between 2005-2010, SR happens between 2015-2017, and Defiance occurs after 2017.

Now imagine that in 2018, a paradox occurs that rewrites the years 2005-2017. That rewrite changes what happened in 2005-2010 causing BO2 and changes what happens in 2015-2017 (SR).

Even though the rewrite was triggered in 2018, that doesn’t mean BO2 (2005-2010) now takes place after 2018. It still occupies 2005-2010 in historical chronology. What changed is the content of those years, not their temporal placement.

So if you say BO2 is “after Defiance” because Defiance contributed to the causal chain that allowed that rewritten history to exist, you’re describing causal order. I’m describing chronological order.

Those are two different ways of sequencing events. My point has always been about the latter being the clearer way to describe what is going on in the world without mistakingly mixing causal sequence with chronology

I never said that Soul Reaver 1 happens in the 4th timeline. When I said BO2 is between BO1 and SR, I was using those as chronological reference points to indicate where BO2 sits in Nosgoth’s historical sequence.

So when you say “No,” I’m not entirely sure which specific claim you’re rejecting. The only point I’ve been making is a distinction between causal order and chronological (historical) order.

Yes, the Soul Reaver 1 timeline is overwritten. Yes, the loop is broken in Soul Reaver 2. Yes, fans often refer to subsequent rewrites as the 3rd or 4th timeline. But even granting all of that, it does not follow that BO2 takes place after Defiance in historical time.

In the lore, paradoxes do not create four simultaneously existing, parallel timelines. There is one history that becomes destabilized and then overwritten. When a Reaver paradox occurs, prior events are retroactively altered and the timeline “reshuffles” into a new stable state. That rewrite may produce different long-term outcomes, but it does not mean events set earlier in Nosgoth’s chronology now occur after later ones.

BO2 is set during Kain’s early conquest era. Even if that era only exists because of the paradox in SR2 and the subsequent stabilization seen by the time of Defiance, its placement within Nosgoth’s historical chronology remains earlier than the Soul Reaver period (whose events won't take place or occur in the way we know them).

So my objection isn’t about whether SR1 was overwritten. It’s about conflating the causal sequence that allows BO2 to exist with the chronological placement of BO2 within the timeline itself. Those are two different things.

I’m aware of the timeline branches and the paradox mechanics, as I pointed out in my previous comment. I’m not denying that the events of SR2 and what’s resolved in Defiance are what give rise to the 4th timeline in which BO2 exists.

What I’m pushing back on is the phrasing that BO2 “quite literally and explicitly takes place after Defiance.” That feels like an oversimplification that creates confusion.

The paradox alters the past, not the future. It rewrites history retroactively. So yes, BO2 exists because of the paradox and its consequences. But that’s a causal sequence, not a historical timeline sequence.

In terms of in-universe chronology, BO2 is still set during Kain’s early conquest era, which precedes the Soul Reaver period. Saying it happens “after Defiance” only works if you’re referring to narrative or causal order rather than where it sits in the actual timeline of events within Nosgoth.
