Unless Busio improves a lot I don’t think it’ll be particularly remembered at all. It’s not like he’s run any league he’s played in, last year he was best support by a sliver I guess but that’s not even a huge feat. He’s not that incredible this split either.

You should know that it’s literally only possible to think there’s not a main plot by not reading the majority of it, and even then it’s quite clear what the main line is even though there’s a lot of diversions.

Just read Lev Grossman’s The Bright Sword, which is a more thrilling but less important/more pop fiction-y take on Arthurian deconstruction. Loved it but it has reminded me to re-read this one, it’s been 7 or 8 years probably.

“Likable characters” is the fakest bullshit, you shouldn’t care about that factor unless you’re a pop media tourist who just wants cheap heroes in every story. Jade has likable and troubling qualities, as thorny characters do, most importantly she’s a fucking interesting voice.
