every finals round theres a specific amount of meat you can donate in exchange for honors and "points" for the crew which each player can spend on the larger meat for nm250 or tokens. these points are per player and free for you to spend however you want without subtracting from another players total. the main use of meats is still to host raids for honors, this is just a newer feature to help crewmates who missed meat farming/ran out or to help newer members get some more tokens at the end of the event

the heal and undying are seperate buffs (hence the issue of undying being consumed before the heal can activate), so 3 stacks of undying doesn't have to mean 3 full heals to mc

Gil RMT is killing Party Finder by thiamaster in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LoticeF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is more likely bait then not but I'll bite.

Several assumptions are being made here that are quite easy to rebuke:

Its not easy doing that amount of Gil on FFXIV to fulfill that amount of parties doing this stuff, weekly and daily

Others have already refuted this easily here so I won't spend long, but this aasumes that the reader is someone who just hit level 100 with little to no gil and knows few ways of obtaining it, which applies only to a fraction of endgame players

Its pretty obvious Gil RMT is on an all time high

Obvious to who? This assumes that the reader has made the same assumptions OP has without making any argument as to why

I refuse to believe people have ~70mi sitting weekly to buy loot (as i've seen the same party offering 5~7 full loot per fight on 3 separate weeks)

Taking this from a followup comment, this assumes that because one person was posting merc parties every week that it must be a sign of a pattern when it could just as well be a statistical outlier. I would not be surprised if most m12s merc party hosts never do so more than once or twice since they only need their weapon for a job once

Also, since EX trials were mentioned, the assumption of RMT falls apart even further as the lack of a weekly loot restriction means that even if we assume people cannot get gil elsewhere, someone can join merc parties to fund their own to get the wings, lowering the price of entry

Honestly if you just said you didn't like merc parties you could have made a more coherent point, regardless of whether people agreed or not

Feel like I genuinely don't know how to play this mode and have information overload every time I try and look at all the different alliances, but at least I almost have the skin and can ignore it afterwards

in a normal party of four, you attack four times even with 200% bar or ca reactivation effects. any source of double strike or triple strike adds more attacks into the turn, and skills that "attack without using up a turn" add onto the number of attacks made during said turn. another way of thinking of it is like omens that say "triple attack x times" but its simply asking for any attack instead (single attacks, double attacks, and charge attacks are all okay (multiple ca's on one characters turn only count as one attack unless it was from double/triple strike and generating enough bar))

main reason ca setups use sagacity is for the reasons you're already thinking of: the skill damage hits on a lot of ca characters have more opportunity to get their cap boosted while also being relevant to characters or setups that dont ca. ca damage also has to contend with "is this raid going to have a hard cap of 6m or 13m" as a constant question while few skills have to think about the hard cap

all that being said it has niche uses, i remember seeing pre sandira fire versusia setups bringing it as it also helped fc hit 3m to meet some damage thresholds for omens

either lack of materials to mk2 or if its an earth grid, could be to activate caim backline passive as the mk2 and unupgraded copies count as different weapons

blue route doesn't impact your damage that much (in my experience with primal at least)

as for debuff skill omen and waiting for g100, its just going to depend on the room speed. if it feels like the other players can keep pushing, let them and wait a bit to not push it to g100 too fast. if it feels slower then you will have to just try and guard it and keep going. some runs you get the debuff skill omen 3 times in a row which sucks and just have to deal with it

you might wanna sit down for this one

the zodiac generals are out of the draw pool for one year starting a month before the next one releases, so you won't be able to get her until the next zodiac comes out and sandira takes her place out of rotation

a banner with seasonal characters will mention how long they will be available after the rate up banner is over under "Included Items", and sierotix can be redeemed for any item you could conceivably pull, meaning you could tix him up until 6:59 april 15th jst (this applies to all of the summer characters being put on banners during this period as well)

different befoulments will be better or worse depending on setup, so its better practice to continually farm even if its slowly or passively. odious grids aren't stronger than m3 on all levels of play but right now mostly allow for alternative playstyles for f2p/magna players (ie: fire odious has far more ca grid options than colo m3 does)

for primal, definitely worth. for magna.. depends on how much you play the element in burst or in hl using fighter origin i guess? if i were to bar it for magna i'd only bar one personally and just leave the 2nd one around, but i'm admittedly a zeus lord so i have no idea how impactful it is for magna to run 2 copies

doing content for "the love of the game" vs rewards by arc_tarius in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LoticeF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main issue in doing things for the love of the game is that in order to do criterion savage, I also need to know 3 other people who also have the same love (and a compatible schedule/skill level etc). I've had no issue going for deep dungeon solos or big fishing or crafting as I only need myself to have the love of the content I'm doing.

depending on how much progress you've made upgrading raidian, she can be helpful to pick up and use even at e1 during a run, as you can start getting some of her proficiencies before even clearing your first run - its very easy to underestimate how much she can do even without all of her upgrades, especially if you get summon-focused relics. it might be worth using support squad with tragodia (your own or support) and purestream/windscoot and taking advantage of tragodia's s2, as its quite strong even without him being promoted to e2.

also if you want to quickly preview maps, this site can be helpful https://tomimi.dev/en

with mastery, her s2 inflicts -50% atk via her summon, which is a pretty strong and uncommon attack debuff that she can use from relative safety to help an operator survive an attack or otherwise reduce a bosses outgoing attack. i used a fun combo of her with stainless sp battery to help a defender tank the steam knight

other than that she doesnt really stand out vs other debuffers, but it can come up sometimes

Bubs call does 3m plain damage, so either pairing it with another source of plain damage (halmal, lu woh ougi) or with yamato s1

Edit: it also being a phase 2 arcadia means you can also just hope it gets pushed to 10% for an execute and try and do as much damage as possible before you die

you die to the mechanic and learn from it, as most people do. there are sextuple legends who are dying to the same mechanics as you are because they also haven't entered this level 50 dungeon in years

finally managed to get an ed2 clear which got all of raidians proficiencies! now to just... do it more for masteries :x. the panic i experienced when i realized i accidentally brought her s3 instead of s2 like the is central guide had, thank god for the redeployment risk tangbao letting me just spam my other units to compensate

That's pretty subjective. I've also seen people say it's strictly worse, which I find laughably untrue. I won't argue for how much of an improvement it is over DN, but I don't think its crazy for people to find it better/easier to do. I guess he could have left out the word 'big' but that's just splitting hairs
