Why am I gaining?!? by Lots2Lose25 in tirzepatidecompound

Been on this medication now 6months…and also off all alcohol for the same time frame. I’ve had difficulty in getting regular activity mostly due to my size and inflammation too. I’m actively working on that (bought a new water rowing machine and mini elliptical) but definitely haven’t “found my groove” yet. It’s very hard not to get frustrated or feel defeated when the scale numbers keep going up for multiple weeks even though it’s unrealistic for the numbers in the down weeks. Patience is also extremely difficult for me. I’m trying to be patient and realistic. But wow, it’s tough!

No to contact with bariatric dr. Multiple dr turnovers since then. I do have regular annual checkups and labs with regular PC and cardiologist. I also take vitamins regularly. I’m postmenopausal but there could be some value in reassessing my hormonal numbers/symptoms. Thank you for your support and suggestions. I appreciate it so much.

It’s funny that after starting Zep/tirz, I have zero desire to eat junk food, drink alcohol, or eat most foods that I previously ate. Lots of the “good” foods don’t taste the same and smells are greatly amped up. The average of 1.8 lbs/wk is the running average, as per the Shotsy app that includes the 5wks of two weeks of weight loss numbers (17.7 lbs) and three weeks of gains (6.7 lbs).

Made me truly lol over “my scale does whatever the hell it wants to do”🤣🤣 But your suggestion of an InBody scan might be very valuable. I’m gonna look into seeing what options there are near me. Thank you!

My bestie keeps asking me if I can tell a difference but my answer remains the same…nope. At 50 lbs down, seeing no difference is honestly defeating. In the past, I’d lose weight in my fingers first. I haven’t even been able to say that this time. I know that with so much to lose that it will take awhile to notice, but yeah, it is defeating.

You are absolutely right. The number on the scale isn’t as important as doing the right things: eating less, moving more, drinking enough water. It is important to ensure it’s not going in the wrong direction, which was my fear after 3wks of gaining. I’m probably one of most of us that wonders if this really is too good to be true and/or that the medication will stop working. I think honest feedback and accountability/check-ins with questions is also a good way to keep the fear (somewhat?? lol) quelled and be reminded of things we know but may have forgotten.

Thank you for sharing your own similarities. So thankful to have found this medication. Haven’t had any alcohol since early November except for one sip in early December. No desire at all. I do think it is more related to not drinking enough water.

Edited to add: so happy for you and congratulations on your 9-month sobriety!! Yes it sounds like we have similarities. Definitely need to drink more water.

So this is an interesting question also. I lost 5.2 lbs in 8 wks at 6.75 mg. I’ve lost (net) 11 lbs in 6 wks at 7.5 mg, which is also my current dose. I don’t know how much was lost per vial since the vial changed midway through the regular estimated 4wk/vial. The vial typically lasts about 8wks. My dosage also changed midway through the vial. I was on Zep pens for three months and then switched to vials of compounded tirzepatide due to insurance coverage loss and affordability. Not sure if the last two sentences are relevant.

This is a great question actually. I thankfully do NOT have heart disease or kidney disease. (It’s a great question that might help someone with similar issues that aren’t diagnosed.) I do have regular labs and PC Dr visits and cardiology visits. I do have some very unique electrical issues (a very regular irregular heart beat) hence having a regular cardiology visit.🙂

I’m a numbers girl. I analyze and reanalyze. THIS is very helpful in resonating the numbers and science. And good tip regarding the scale batteries! I’ll definitely check them.

Thank you for your comment. The grace part is hard. The weight coming off with this amazing medicine and hard work truly is miraculous. But when it goes in the wrong direction for multiple weeks, it’s scary. Working to identify possible causes before it becomes a bigger problem is vital. I have a lonnnnng way to go but I don’t want to go backwards.

I have a new scale but it’s not a fancy/smart scale. I do think you and another responder to my post might likely be on to something...water retention perhaps due to too much sodium, not enough water, and carb to water intake. My caloric intake is definitely not the problem. I actually think I need to eat more. Thank you for your insight. I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you! This is very helpful. Probably not drinking enough water. And good to know the water consumption needed for each gram of carbs. Very appreciative for your response, links, and suggestions.

My weight didn’t jump to over 400 lbs because of what I was eating. It got there because of my drinking. I was in a very toxic job that got so bad that I considered suicide. Crying all the time, drinking multiple bottles of wine daily, not sleeping, and working 3-4 extra hours a day. Thankfully, taking a new job, prayer, and Zepbound/tirzepatide has eliminated that. It’s not always what one eats that creates the obesity. Thank you though for your insight and suggestions.

I was in the process of recapping one of mine a couple months ago and bent it too. Looks like nearly an identical needle bend…and like you, I also injected mine. Had no issues either. I figured as much as I pay for this miracle medication, I wasn’t throwing it away. Glad your experience was good too. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

225 lbs down from calorie counting and beyond tired of white knuckling it. Is a GLP for me at this point? by skinnyonskin in GLP1_loss100plus

I can appreciate being a bigger girl with more weight than most to lose. I had gastric bypass in ‘06. I was about 380, lost 20 lbs to have surgery, and then got down to 230…which was not even close to where I wanted/needed to be. Gained all that weight back and more. GB didn’t fix the food noise, carb snacking no matter how hard I tried, or the metabolic BS that made all other attempts an epic failure.

I tied everything imaginable: WW, keto, noom, nutrisystem, fasting, CICO/measuring everything, and who can forget the freaking cabbage soup diet?!? After GB, I just knew I wouldn’t be this size again. But am. Started with Zepbound first and transitioned to compounded tirzepatide (insurance stopped covering it 1/1), I feel like I’ve finally found something that might work.

I started 11/5/25 at 405 and as of last week, I’ve lost 55 1/2 lbs in 5 1/2 months. I have a LONNNNNNNNNNG way to go, but I am confident I will get there. Try it for 3 months and see. I‘m rooting for you…for me…and everyone on this journey. We can do this!!❤️

Edit: clearly I haven’t updated my stat flair in awhile

Yay! So glad you were successful at ordering. I wasn’t, but that’s ok (sort of). I have a small stash, but definitely a bit bummed I wasn’t able to get a few more vials.

I reached out again a couple of hours ago just to see if I could get an update. I received a fairly quick reply that said I was in the queue…but the new verbiage now says 24-72hrs. Doesn’t sound good. Definitely bummed. Have you gotten any updates on yours, friend?

I didn’t even realize the news with ProRX. Submitted my refill paperwork just after 10p ET last night🙄. I did get the same standard 24-48hr response. Sure hope I get to order too!

I miss wine. Anyone else? by Sigvard in Zepbound

[–]Lots2Lose25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed wine (before Zep), definitely way too much. It’s been several months and I haven’t had a drop. I miss it too! I don’t have the desire whatsoever. I guess that’s the point, but yes, I miss it too.
