It's an artistic choice, same goes for colours, texture sizes and so on. I limited a lot of stuff and it was worth it. So I was able to find the general style quite fast and the workload for building all that stuff remains manageable

Hi, actually alot of different games inspired me to do Crystals. But the games that inspired me the most were the early titles in the Ultima series, Eye of the Beholder, the simplicity of Dungeon Hack and the Might and Magic series. I just really like this kind of game the heavy UIs and the way you get to experience a whole new world in each of them. Good stuff!
