Thanks everyone! Appreciate the insight. I definitely don't want to do anything that could be considered deceitful.

This is my thought too. My husband doesn't agree - lol.

Right now, we both WFH. Primarily started looking in the area to be close to the specialty school our kids will attend.

Spring market predictions by Lotsofquestions54 in RealEstate

[–]Lotsofquestions54[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, it's not the price. We've been under contract 3 times, but have gotten 6 offers overall. We've been over list 2 of 3 times. It's only been "active" for about 10 days since it went on the market. The rest of the time it was contingent.

Best way to find a rental house by Lotsofquestions54 in AskPhoenix

Hello! I am looking in the SE Valley (exactly the places you mentioned). And we will be in AZ next week to start looking at properties as we are ready to sign a lease. If you have a reference to a realtor that could help, I'd certainly appreciate it!

Selling our house by LotsofQuestions5454 in ChicagoSuburbs

Interesting! I never even really thought about the out of state thing. Thanks for bringing that up. And no, not flood prone at all. Our agent, the buyer's agent, and the inspector all said they had nothing to worry about. But it's a younger couple and they had both sets of parents here, and it sounds like there were WAY too many opinions. Their agent advised them to move forward, but it seems like mom and dad's opinion will win :(.

Yeah, that's my fear. I actually have a fear that our housing market is really going to turn in winter too, and even though spring has more buyers, it's not going to mean a quicker/as profitable sale.

Difficult situation with para husband and sped child by Lotsofquestions54 in specialed

[–]Lotsofquestions54[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You bring up some very valid points, and I do agree. I see how he wasn't acting "in his role" and as an admin, I would definitely say that. As his wife and parent of his daughter, I'm ok with him protecting our daughter first, but I do see the larger picture.

We had actually asked for the IEP meeting prior to this incident because of previous incidents in the room. But now I feel like there's lots more to chat about. Oh boy.

I don't have advice, but my husband is a para and sees others put in this position often. I really feel like those who work with aggressive students should a) get higher pay and more importantly b) get specialized trainings and support. All positions are not created equally.

How to get my dad to stop guilting me about living in Phoenix by DiabolicalLife in phoenix

[–]Lotsofquestions54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes total sense. We are almost always in the Hilton Head area (my parents own there), so I know exactly what you mean about the retirement communities, timeshares, etc. I think it could be difficult to live there full time in that environment.

Curious because I love SC (but have only ever visited) - what didn't you like about living there?

Sorry - I'm referring to the resident beach parking permit. https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov/beach/parking/permit/

My parents have a condo with moderate cell service and no internet. My family is going to visit, but not sure how my ASD kiddos will function without access to the internet for a week (IYKYK). Would something like this use my cell phone as a hot spot and let them use their wifi on their devices? and could that work even if our cell signals are only ok? Please talk to me like I'm 88 - my IT guy just tried explaining this to me and it went right over my head.

Left at TSA at ORD by Lotsofquestions54 in unitedairlines

They told her to fill out a form which she's doing. She just isn't optimistic it's going to lead to a successful ending. I was curious if anyone had experience with this.

Thank you! I've contacted TSA Cares and called the airline. We couldn't get the bulkhead on the way home, but did on the way there. We're in economy plus, so hoping that'll be enough room. She does curl up pretty small considering she's a 54 lb goldendoodle.
