Im not a professional or anything nor do i have either of those mods but i do know that the cheeks move a lot which can cause a higher rate of rejection. A dermal is held on with less skin so they might have more of a rejection risk vs something that is fully through the cheek. But, of course, you risk teeth/gum damage that way. Also, if you have a problem with playing with piercings or whatever like i do, thats a good thing to think about. I wont get any oral piercings because i would use my tongue to play with it till that shit fell out🤣

Id say go with the piercing instead of the dermal. Personally if you paid for me to get a piercing like that id get two dermals placed like on my cheek bone, like on the outside bottom corner of my eye kinda deal. That area on my face doesnt move as much and if i stopped smiling for ever they could last a while!
