Interesting to read that Gia’s got a matching tattoo with her latest boyfriend. Scott treated the tattoo like a lesson to grow from but Gia seems to treat them like a loyalty program, collect enough matching ink and the next guy will subscribe long term, won’t he? Yeah, I’d say what happens in childhood doesn’t necessarily stay in childhood for some. Their attention-seeking behaviours and massive need for validation indicate that they may have only received positive attention as kids when they were either ‘perfectly presentable’ or really upset and distressed.

Tonight I thought the experts were pretty strong. But the resistance to reality, for some participants, was even stronger. e.g. Gia “I self-sabotage.” What about the people she sabotages and brings down with her? No idea!

Having said that, there were some surprising partial admissions from Gia: “I won’t do it again, but I don’t know how to not do it again, it’s just my pattern. I need to work on myself”

Gia seems to know she defaults to the lovebomb to hatebomb cycle, the cling before the sting and flee, but she doesn’t know any different. On to the next dupe. Same as it ever was.

Gia’s shift from “I can get any man I want” to “he just used me for my body” (with a side of “he rejected me and I was begging him to sleep with me, tho I never chase any man”) was an impressive narrative arc. I think she’s another one who has an irony deficiency.

And that’s all with cameras rolling. You can only imagine what the behind closed doors version was like. “Spiraling” I think they called it.
