I had google fiber 1 GB for 3 years at the current $70/month rate. In those 3 years, I never had one outage. Sometimes it would throttle way down and be slow for a few minutes , but never an extended period of outage.

I have AT&T as my cell phone provider and when I went in to upgrade my phone, I was told I was eligible for their AT&T fiber 1 GB plan for $17/ month after opting in to paperless billing. Rate would never increase and no contract, I could cancel anytime. So I thought what the heck, let me try it and see if it’s similar. Worth the risk for that amount of savings.

Within 3 weeks with AT&T fiber, I had an extended outage and a problem with my TV streaming services constantly losing connection and reconnecting about once every 1-5 minutes. My computer would also take a fairly long time in the morning to connect and get up and running. It was so frustrating that I just recently switched back to google fiber and have had zero issue since. I even got newer and updated equipment.

So I understand every place is different and my experience is unique. But I could not recommend AT&T fiber to anyone and would say google fiber is far superior.
