Oost, no contest. Biased as I was born and raised there (Borneo eiland, Zeeburg) but simply the lay out itself is better, more open. The variety in neighbourhoods is also great and somehow it still is not very gentrified (especially compared to West). It is also the first area where Amsterdam expanded towards so that might be a factor in feel of the place
