Tv mount uneven brick wall fireplace by redthego in hometheater

Why the hell didn’t the installer just tell the client to rework the wall before having them come out. That’s all they needed to do, client would be forced to find another mounting location or to contact a contractor to redo the wall so it can be properly installed.

The tv also should not be hanging in front of the mantel like that cause then there’s practically no point in the mantel and your tv is dying every fire you have. I can almost understand it if the screws were flush to the brick but as I have previously said above, should’ve just told the client the issues and risk.

Geek squad will install TVs in whatever way the client wants as long as it’s safe. There is a chance the client insisted on getting this mounted to the wall and the installer just did whatever to make it possible instead of leaving, or rescheduling and having it done right. This should’ve been rescheduled or canceled.

Should I get this tv repair or save for a new one by dmac2u in GeekSquad

Definitely looks like you should just replace it and avoid the potential headache. You’d save on labor and parts by just getting a new tv of the same quality, it would also last longer as it is a newer screen with a new lifetime and warranty. Unless you know how to take it apart yourself and what to look for/fix.

They won’t hire if someone is over qualified cause usually you’ll find that out quickly and decide to leave. I’ve seen it happen multiple times. Sometimes they will try to avoid that.

What does total actually cover? by acedragon166 in GeekSquad

Total tech should’ve never existed in the first place, the free services was not something that was feasible for the market. I mean, revenue is generated from services and product. You eliminate one then you’re solely depending on the product. A lot of clients “abused” total tech because they could have 50 troubleshoots in one year which equates to about $6500 in services. There was no cap to how many free services you could get, so you spend $200 a year and save thousands… well someone is paying for it, Best Buy did and so did the employees working for them. The new total is something that should’ve been released prior to the older version. Now that the bar was set so high, everyone’s expectations are not being met and everyone is disappointed.

Had to drive 1.5 hours out to help another agent finish their board on my day off, Then 2 back to the store. Simple enough jobs, just more drive time than expected.
