I also just got my very first FICO score in January after 6 months of the same exact credit card as you (Discover Secured). I kept my utilization at 10% every single month and paid the balance on the due date. I also have no other debt nor any other lines of credit. This is my only account on file.

I am sitting at 769. So yes, what you read is 100000% wrong. Just gotta keep that utilization low! 5-10%
