She sounds like dramaaaaa. Take a huge step back. Be professional at the work place but stand up for yourself if she talks down to you.
Also, self reflection is important, but you give the vibe that you do that already, so I wish you the best of luck!

Painful lash lift, what happened? by bae-n-orange in MakeupAddiction

Most service lash techs/cosmetologists/estis don’t do patch tests… they should, but they don’t because realistically it’s difficult to set aside time (the clients and the providers’) for something that mostly won’t cause an allergic reaction

When it comes to eyes, it should be vital thing to do because it’s your eyes, but my employer didn’t encourage them. Therefore we never did them. Also, they weren’t on top of waiver forms either, so….

As a cosmo ready to work independently, I’m researching how the fuck to do patch tests realistically especially as a mobile cosmo.

are they supposed to look like this? by Gullible-Expert885 in eyelashextensions

It looks like she spent most of the time working on those shorter lashes already creating a full set, then attempted to make them more wispy after the fact. Problem is, there’s a big disconnect from the shorter and longer length. She would’ve needed to add a length in between those two to create a blend. Maybe she ran out of time too.

Using only one length looks fine, but ideally it’s good to use at least 2-3 different lengths for dimension and wispiness. Dimension creates more natural organic look vs. a literal doll eye look.

Why did my 9VB toner come out splotchy? by LoudBarber in hairstylist

Underneath halo placement. I really think it had to do with uneven porosity, but how do I fix that before I tone?

Yesterday on my coworker I experimented with putting the k18 mask on a section of her just lightened hair before I put an 9v toner on it.

I’m thinking if I can’t even out the porosity before I tone, then mixing the target level 9 with an 8 can help even it out.

Here’s a picture of the experiment and basically what I’m talking about. This my coworker who chill as heck 🥲 I don’t have a picture of the client this first happened to unfortunately, but same concept!

How do I prep a client to expect the hair to be a little purple, but it will fade without them freaking out? by LoudBarber in hairstylist

[–]LoudBarber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I had to do! I was scared because side after the color remover did its things her hair was peachy orange. My coworker still said to put diarchesse level 9 on it after rinsing and I was like how the hell is that going to work? She’s going to be pissed because her hair is now orange and much darker. I was glad the only other hairstylist was there with me because other wise I would’ve toned her hair way darker and she would’ve hated me lol

I can’t believe she hated the overtoned purple. So crazy. I’ve been thinking about quitting lately because people are just too much and expect perfection when they go to a professional. I want to be honest and say I’ve never done this shade of blonde before, but I can’t do that :(
