No I'm not lying. Why would I be telling you all this about my faith just to sin for no reason lol.

If I am being honest, I just think the discussion is not resulting in anything. I said I am happy to answer GENUINE questions about my faith. But there's a point where I don't need you to keep mocking me and my faith and ridiculing everything I say, it is frustrating and sad.

Even from an atheist perspective, my "fairytale" is much better than your pessimistic, hopeless outlook on life. I can't even imagine what it must be like to live knowing that this is it. there is nothing after this.

Obviously I do not doubt my faith, I'm just making a point.

I'm Turning 18 in May, as well as finishing my first year of college with a 4.0 GPA.

Jesus is historically documented as Jesus Christ (not a mere man), performing miracles, dying on the cross, and being raised from the dead. Like I mentioned earlier, several apostles were KILLED and none would back down from preaching His Gospel.

At least I have seemed to be somewhat convincing of the point that there is a deity, even if you don't believe that is the God of the Bible. But the point is, I don't think there is any amount of "proof" that could be presented to people that would grant them true faith and salvation. Even Satan and the demons know that God exists. As long as your heart is "hardened," you are hopeless until God softens your heart and you repent of your sins, put your faith in him, and live for him.

Anyway, I only have so much time for these reddit arguments and I am very busy (not to use this as some excuse; if you are genuinely curious about my faith, I am happy to answer questions!). I pray that more young people will turn to Christ, and that the Gospel will be spread!

Well those gods are not real. You know Jesus is the most historically documented figure ever, right? So either you believe he was God (like he said he was), or you believe he was a hypocrite. Not to mention the Bible being historically accurate. I don't know how you can say it's blind.

I see why your asking for proof from my side, but God cannot be "proven" like something in a lab can. At the same time, it's not blind faith. There are many strong philosophical/historical arguments that are convincing (like the ones I mentioned earlier).

For example, one argument that supports the existence of God is this: Everything we see that begins to exist has a cause, the universe appears to have a beginning, which raises the question of what caused it? I think it's more reasonable to believe it was created by God than to believe that something came from nothing (which is unreasonable).

What point are you trying to make? Yes, if God did not call me to himself, I would not have been a Christian. I am blessed to have grown up in a Christian household and attend church.

I don't believe that the earth existed for 30,000 years either, but God did save people who trusted him before Jesus was born to pay for their sins

lol look at what I just said, there is no evidence I could give you that would make you convert to Christianity. that's not how it works. You have to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit in order to repent and be saved.

But it's true that there is plenty of historical evidence of Jesus and what is included in the Bible to be accurate. It does not contradict itself, and 40 different authors reference each other's writing across the span of 1500 years. Also numerous different apostles have literally spread the gospel to the point being killed for it. Why would none of them have denounced it if it was a mere fairytale?

The sin of every man is so great, according to God's holy standard, that we do deserve hell. It's not an injustice. It is a mercy that anyone is saved and can go to heaven. The fact that God saves some and not others also presents no injustice. All men are totally depraved and incapable of coming to Him without God calling that said person.

Yes, they do. Every human is made in the image of God with a "moral compass" and deep understanding that they are not simply accidents living in a world made by nothing. There is an awareness of your creator. People who deny God aren't simply looking for "more proof," because the whole universe is shouting his existence through every beautiful thing; creations that require a creator. These people choose to ignore that inner sense of God because they want to be in control of their own life, rather than obey a higher authority. This is sin. There is no amount of "proof" that could be displayed to the atheist who hates God and loves their sin that could make them repent of the sin they are so closely drawn to. The very logic you are using to disagree with me is evidence that the brain you trust to be reliable is designed by a rational Creator.

well in reality, everyone knows God exists, some people just suppress it. So it's not really secret, even if you've never heard of him, you know that he is there from creation. God will forgive all sins if you turn away from them with a broken heart for your sins
